Maxim & Lolita sono stati portati da noi da Sanidad con microchip, erano stati abbandonati dal loro "umano", non volevano più i loro cani. All'inizio quando sono arrivati, erano così tristi e piangevano. Piano piano hanno iniziato ad abituarsi alla vita nel rifugio e almeno hanno iniziato a godersi il tempo nei parchi canini. Lolita è stata adottata nel frattempo, ma Maxim è ancora in attesa nel rifugio. Dopo un anno, lo stress della vita quotidiana nel rifugio ha colpito lui - mancanza di movimento, mancanza di sonno, spazi ristretti e niente da fare, per questi cani vivaci e intelligenti che sarebbero ideali per accompagnare un essere umano. Maxim & Lolita dovrebbero essere fratelli e si intendo molto bene, quindi sarebbero felici se adottati insieme, ma allo stesso tempo avranno una vita felice se adottati separatamente in buone famiglie. Crediamo che entrambi siano in grado di diventare cani unici della famiglia, soprattutto quando vivono in una casa dove possono trascorrere tanto tempo insieme al loro umano. Maxim ha incontrato anche altre cagne e potrebbe convivere con un'altra cagna sociale. Non l'abbiamo ancora testato con altri maschi. Maxim ha una coda un po' più corta del normale, non siamo completamente certi se sia nato con una coda più corta o se abbia avuto un incidente nella sua vita, tuttavia la coda non lo disturba affatto. Maxim & Lolita sono due cani molto amabili e disponibili, ma stressati nell'ambiente del rifugio, che è tipico per un pastore. Vogliono solo stare all'esterno, correre nel parco e sorvegliare i confini. Sono entrambi cani forti e tirano la leva quando escono per la prima volta dal rifugio quando sono stressati, ma una volta calmi nei parchi canini e dopo aver bruciato energia, sono buoni con la guida. Maxim è più tenero e cammina sempre tra le tue gambe. Ama di essere accarezzato e vicino a te. Mentre Lolita è più indipendente e gira anche da sola, mentre Maxim guarda sempre indietro per controllare che tu ci sia ancora. Maxim ha i problemi tipici di un Pastore Tedesco con schiena e fianchi bassi - displasia dell'anca e spondilosi, che insieme sembrano causare un problema di incontinenza per Maxim. Sta ricevendo farmaci per il rilassamento muscolare, gestione del dolore e fisioterapia, che sta davvero aiutando la sua mobilità, ma anche il fisioterapista e il veterinario dicono che ha bisogno di una casa per migliorare. Deve acquisire muscoli alle gambe posteriori per migliorare la sua salute. Purtroppo non possiamo fare molto nell'ambiente del rifugio...

Slowly they started to get used to the shelter life, and at least they started enjoying their time in the dog parks. Lolita has been adopted in the meantime, but Maxim is still waiting in the shelter. After a year, the stress of the daily shelter life has reached him - lack of movement, lack of sleep, small spaces and nothing to do, for these active, smart dogs who are ideal for accompanying a human. Maxim & Lolita are supposed to be siblings and they are very good together, so they would be happy to be adopted together, but at the same time, they will also have happy lives when adopted separately into good families. We believe that both are able to be single dogs of the family, especially when living in a home where they can spend a lot of time together with their human. Maxim has also met other female dogs, and he could possibly live together with another social female. We have not yet tested him with other males. Maxim has a bit shorter tail than normal, we're not completely sure whether he was born with a shorter tail, or whether he had an accident in his life, however the tail does not bother him at all. Maxim & Lolita are both are such loving and friendly dogs, but stressed in the shelter environment, which is very typical for a shepherd. They just want to be outside, running in the park and guarding the perimeters. They’re both strong dogs and pull on the leash when first going out of the shelter when stressed, but once calmly in the dog parks and they’ve burnt off some energy, they’re good on the lead. Maxim is more cuddly and he always walks through your legs. He loves to be stroked and close next to you. While Lolita is more independant and wonders around also by herself, then Maxim is always looking back to check that you are also still there. Maxim has the typical problems of a German Shephard with low back and hips - hip dysplasia and spondylosis, which all together seems to be creating an incontinence issue for Maxim. He is receiving medication for muscle release, pain management and physiotherapy, which is really helping his mobility, but also the physiotherapist and veterinary say - he needs a home to improve. He has to gain muscles on his back legs, to improve his health. More we cannot do in the shelter environment sadly....
