Maya la Mastin-Mix, insieme a Leon, sono state portate al rifugio in un modo molto particolare, da persone davvero strane. Entrambi i cani erano pesantemente sedati, sotto l'effetto di farmaci, probabilmente pillole calmanti che la coppia più anziana aveva ottenuto da un veterinario. I cani dovevano essere portati dentro con carrelli, tanto erano sotto l'effetto. Oltre al fatto che siano state portate al rifugio in modo molto errato, le persone se ne sono poi andate, e l'unica informazione poco attendibile che abbiamo è che apparentemente Maya & Leon siano state lasciate alla proprietà del vicino. Sono entrambi grandi orsi polari pelosi, che amano stare intorno agli umani, ma nello stesso tempo sono abbastanza indipendenti da poter rimanere sole o occuparsi dei propri affari nei parchi canini, senza bisogno di compagnia costante. Maya è dolce e allegra, e ogni tanto viene da te per abbracci durante il tuo tempo all'esterno con lei. Nonostante la sua taglia, cammina molto bene e tranquillamente al guinzaglio, e la sua presenza è piacevole, non soffocante, come talvolta può essere associato a cani di questa taglia. Maya e Leon sono molto simili nel loro aspetto, quindi crediamo che siano imparentati in qualche modo. Si curano molto l'un l'altro, si giocano insieme, anche se il loro gioco è abbastanza a bassa energia e calmo. Mentre Leon ha una presenza dominante, Maya è più sottomessa e modesta. Certo sarebbe fantastico se i due potessero andare in una casa in campagna insieme, ma non è assolutamente necessario. Maya è disponibile per adozione singola, sia come unico cane in una casa, dove potrebbe trascorrere la maggior parte del tempo con il suo umano, oppure in una casa con un altro cane (al momento preferibili i maschi, poiché Maya non è ancora stata testata con le femmine, ma può essere testata su richiesta). Se nella famiglia c'è un altro cane, è perfettamente felice a trascorrere ore da sola, semplicemente guardando il cortile, dormendo sull'erba. La sua altezza alle spalle è un po' oltre i 70 cm, rendendola veramente una ragazza grande, bella e gentile.

Maya the Mastin-Mix, together with Leon, were brought to the shelter in a very particular way, by really strange people. Both of the dogs were heavily sedated, under drugs, apparently calming pills that the older couple had obtained from a veterinary. The dogs had to be wheeled in with carts, that's how heavily under influence they were. Aside from the fact that they were brought to the shelter in a very incorrect manner, the people then ran away, and the only piece of untrustworthy information that we have, is that apparently Maya & Leon were left at their neighbor's property. They are both huge fluffy polar bears, who love to be around humans, but at the same time are also independent enough to stay alone, or do mind their own business in the dog parks, without needing constant companionship. Maya is sweet and cheerful, and she likes to come to you for cuddles every now and then during your time outside with her. Regardless of her size, she walks very nicely and calmly on the leash, and her presence is pleasant, not overwhelming, as sometimes is associated with this size of dogs. Maya and Leon are very similar in their appearance, so we believe they are related in some way. They care a lot for each other, groom each other and play together, though even their play is quite low-energy and calm. While Leon has more of a dominant presence, Maya is more submissive, and modest. Of course it would be great if the two of them could move to a country home together, but it is not an absolute must. Maya is also available for an individual adoption either as an only dog of a home, where she could spend most of the time together with her human, or to a home with another dog (at the moment males preferred, as Maya has not yet been tested with females, but can be tested upon request). If there is another dog in the family, she is totally fine to spend hours alone, just watching the yard, snoozing on the grass. Her shoulder height is a bit over 70cm, making her really a big, lovely, kind-hearted girl.
