Patch è un Jack Russell classico, ha 6 anni e si trova in ottime condizioni essendo proveniente da un ambiente molto attento. Purtroppo Patch ha sviluppato una tendenza a comportamenti dominanti - ruggire, mordere - quando non otteneva ciò che desiderava. A casa sua aveva imparato che poteva evitare di uscire o rimanere sul divano minacciando i suoi proprietari per farli indietreggiare! Da quando è arrivato al rifugio, non abbiamo avuto problemi con lui. Gestirlo; mettergli il guinzaglio; mandarlo fuori con volontari per passeggiate; camminare e condividere la gabbia con altri cani - tutto perfetto. Quindi Patch non è adatto a tutti, sappiamo che potrebbe cercare di adottare comportamenti dominanti che aveva visto in precedenza una volta che si sarà ambientato in una nuova casa. Ha bisogno di un ambiente esperienziale e tranquillo, senza persone che entrano ed escono continuamente. Ha bisogno anche di qualcuno pronto a dargli una correzione ferma se prova a scappare con qualcosa! Patch è un ragazzo intelligente, affettuoso e divertente. È molto affidabile con o senza guinzaglio e è immacolatamente pulito nella sua gabbia. Sì, ha bisogno di un proprietario esperto, ma anche di una casa dove riceve tanta allegria, incoraggiamento e conforto. Per la sua storia non lo adotteremo in una casa con bambini piccoli. Patch si intende molto bene con gli altri cani qui. Potrebbe essere un vantaggio avere un altro cane in casa dove Patch capisce più facilmente che il mondo non gira intorno a lui!

Patch is a classic Jack Russell, he is 6 years old and in great nick having come from a very caring home. Unfortunately Patch developed a tendency towards controlling behaviours – growling, snapping – when he didn’t get his way. In his home he learned that he could get away with not going out, or staying on the sofa by giving a growl to make his owners back off! In the weeks since he arrived to the rescue, we have had no issue with him. Handling him; clipping on leads; sending him out with volunteers for walks; walking and sharing a kennel with other dogs – all fine. So Patch is not for everyone, we know he may try to employ previously-seen controlling behaviours once he settles in a new home. He needs an experienced, quieter home without people going in and out all the time. He also needs someone prepared to give firm correction if he tries to get away with anything! Patch is a clever, loving, entertaining lad. He is very trustworthy on and off the lead and he is immaculately clean in his kennel. Yes, he needs an experienced owner, but also a home where he gets plenty of fun, encouragement and comfort. Because of his history we will not rehome him to a household with young children. Patch mixes really well with other dogs here. It could be a bonus having another dog in the home where Patch more easily understands that the world doesn’t revolve around him!
