Patch es un Jack Russell clásico, tiene 6 años y está en muy buena forma habiendo provenido de un hogar muy cuidadoso. Lamentablemente Patch desarrolló una tendencia a comportamientos dominantes - gruñendo, mordiendo - cuando no obtenía lo que quería. En su hogar aprendió que podía escaparse de salir o quedarse en el sofá haciendo un gruñido para que sus dueños retrocedieran. Desde las semanas que llegó al rescatista, no hemos tenido ningún problema con él. Manipularlo; colocarle correas; enviarlo con voluntarios para paseos; caminar y compartir una jaula con otros perros - todo bien. Así que Patch no es para todos, sabemos que puede intentar emplear comportamientos dominantes previamente vistos una vez que se establezca en un nuevo hogar. Necesita un hogar experimentado y más tranquilo sin personas entrando y saliendo todo el tiempo. También necesita alguien preparado para darle corrección firme si intenta escaparse con algo. Patch es un chico inteligente, cariñoso y entretenido. Es muy confiable en y fuera de la correa y está impecablemente limpio en su jaula. Sí, necesita un dueño experimentado, pero también un hogar donde obtenga mucha diversión, estímulo y comodidad. Debido a su historial, no lo rehogaremos en un hogar con niños pequeños. Patch se mezcla muy bien con otros perros aquí. Podría ser una ventaja tener otro perro en el hogar donde Patch comprende más fácilmente que el mundo no gira en torno a él!

Patch is a classic Jack Russell, he is 6 years old and in great nick having come from a very caring home. Unfortunately Patch developed a tendency towards controlling behaviours – growling, snapping – when he didn’t get his way. In his home he learned that he could get away with not going out, or staying on the sofa by giving a growl to make his owners back off! In the weeks since he arrived to the rescue, we have had no issue with him. Handling him; clipping on leads; sending him out with volunteers for walks; walking and sharing a kennel with other dogs – all fine. So Patch is not for everyone, we know he may try to employ previously-seen controlling behaviours once he settles in a new home. He needs an experienced, quieter home without people going in and out all the time. He also needs someone prepared to give firm correction if he tries to get away with anything! Patch is a clever, loving, entertaining lad. He is very trustworthy on and off the lead and he is immaculately clean in his kennel. Yes, he needs an experienced owner, but also a home where he gets plenty of fun, encouragement and comfort. Because of his history we will not rehome him to a household with young children. Patch mixes really well with other dogs here. It could be a bonus having another dog in the home where Patch more easily understands that the world doesn’t revolve around him!
