Skye is een prachtige meid met veel liefde om te geven. Achter haar iets schuchtere uitstraling zit een echt liefdevolle meid die sterke banden vormt met haar mensen en een knuffel geweldig vindt als ze zich veilig en op haar gemak voelt. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Kruis Bij het ontmoeten van nieuwe mensen kan Skye eerst een beetje onzeker zijn. Vanwege dit zal ze een paar bezoeken aan het centrum nodig hebben om positieve relaties en vertrouwen op te bouwen voordat ze naar haar nieuwe huis gaat. Zodra je binnen haar cirkel valt, zie je haar liefdevolle, trouwe natuur doorbreken. Skye heeft het moeilijk om alleen gelaten te worden, dus zoekt ze een thuis waar iemand de meeste tijd aanwezig is en geleidelijk haar vertrektijden kan opbouwen op een tempo dat zij kan verdragen. Met geduld, geruststelling en een consistente routine heeft ze alle potentie om grote vooruitgang te boeken. Ze wil graag de enige huisdier in het gezin zijn en is het beste geschikt voor een rustiger milieu met toegang tot gebieden met weinig honden. Skye kan oververmoeid raken bij andere honden en vindt het frustrerend als ze niet kan groeten, dus ze heeft begrijpende eigenaren nodig die bereid zijn aan haar sociale vaardigheden te werken en haar te helpen kalmer gedrag te leren rondom hondenvriendjes. Onderhoudende positieve oefeningen zullen cruciaal zijn om haar rustiger en zelfverzekerder te maken. In het juiste thuis zal Skye bloeien tot de meest gehoorzame maat. Ze houdt er niets meer van dan knuffelen met haar favoriete mensen en deel uitmaken van de familie. Als u geduldig, vriendelijk bent en klaar bent om een jonge hond te helpen haar zelfvertrouwen op te bouwen, kan Skye het perfecte aanvullende onderdeel van uw leven zijn. Skye is a beautiful girl with so much love to give. Beneath her slightly shy exterior is a truly affectionate girl who forms strong bonds with her people and absolutely adores a cuddle once she feels safe and comfortable. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross Skye is a bright, affectionate girl with a huge personality and an even bigger zest for life. At only a year old, she still has a lot to learn about managing her excitement, but underneath all that energy is a sweet, people-loving dog who forms strong bonds with those she trusts. Skye finds kennel life frustrating and overwhelming, and this can make her behaviour look bigger than she really is. When her world becomes too restricted, she can become bouncy, vocal, mouthy or grabby with people. This is not coming from a “bad” place, but it does mean she needs adopters who are confident around strong, high-energy dogs and who can calmly help her decompress, rather than trying to manage her through pressure or confrontation. Once Skye knows you, she is wonderfully tactile and loves being close to her people; she enjoys fuss, play, exploring, sniffing, running, and throwing herself into life with full enthusiasm. She can be physically intense when excited, so she is looking for an adult home, or a home with resilient teenagers aged 14+, who can understand when she needs space and calm support. Skye is very interested in other dogs and enjoys socialising with dogs who match her rough-and-tumble play style. She can become frustrated when she cannot greet or play, and her play can be full-on, mouthy and body-slamming, so she is best suited to being the only animal in the home while she continues learning how to regulate. She would benefit from carefully chosen dog friends, secure-field play opportunities, and quiet walks where she can sniff, explore and come down from the excitement. Skye also finds being left difficult at the moment, so she will need a home where someone is around for most of the day initially. Her leaving hours will need to be built very gradually, with a predictable routine and plenty of support. She may also benefit from dog sitters or trusted family support while she settles. Skye will need several visits to the centre so she can build a relationship with her adopters before going home. Our Behaviour and Training Team will be involved in her rehoming and will support her new family with introductions, visitor routines, dog socialisation, and managing arousal and frustration. Skye is not a ready-made easy dog, but she is a special one. For the right people who can be patient, physically confident, kind, and willing to work on balancing between the structure and freedom she needs, she has the potential to become an incredibly loyal and loving member of the family.
