Adopt Adopt Skye

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Young · 1 year

Skye is a beautiful girl with so much love to give. Beneath her slightly shy exterior is a truly affectionate girl who forms strong bonds with her people and absolutely adores a cuddle once she feels safe and comfortable. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross When meeting new people, Skye can be a little unsure at first. Because of this, she’ll need a few visits to the centre to help build positive relationships and trust before heading off to her new home. Once you’re in her circle, though, you’ll see her sweet, loyal nature shine through. Skye finds being left alone quite difficult at the moment, so she is looking for a home where someone is around for most of the day initially and can gradually build up her leaving hours at a pace she can cope with. With patience, reassurance, and a consistent routine, she has every potential to make great progress. She would like to be the only pet in the home and is best suited to a quieter environment with access to low dog-populated walking areas. Skye can become over-aroused around other dogs and finds it frustrating when she’s unable to say hello, so she’ll need understanding owners who are committed to working on her social skills and helping her learn calmer behaviours around canine friends. Ongoing positive training will be key to helping her feel more relaxed and confident. In the right home, Skye will blossom into the most devoted companion. She loves nothing more than snuggling up with her favourite humans and being part of the family. If you’re patient, kind, and ready to help a young dog build her confidence, Skye could be the perfect addition to your life Published: 24th January, 2026 Updated: 12th May, 2026 Author: Katrina Hyde Daisy is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross looking for her forever home. About Adopt Skye

What life with Adopt Skye looks like

Adopt Skye is a medium-sized young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Separation anxiety, needs gradual building of alone time, reactive to other dogs, requires quiet environment

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Skye, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Skye?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Skye on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Skye if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopt Skye already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Skye isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Skye and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
