Skye är en vacker flicka med så mycket kärlek att ge. Under hennes lite skymtiga yttre ligger en riktigt kärleksfull flicka som bildar starka band med sina människor och älskar en kram när hon känner sig säker och bekväm. Staffordsbullterrierkorsning När Skye träffar nya människor kan hon vara lite osäker i början. Därför behöver hon några besök på centret för att bygga positiva relationer och förtroende innan hon går till sitt nya hem. När du är inom hennes cirkel kommer du att se hennes goda, lojala natur lysa fram. Skye har svårt att vara ensam just nu, så hon söker ett hem där någon är närvarande de flesta dagarna i början och kan gradvis öka antalet lämnade timmar i ett tempo hon kan hantera. Med tålmodighet, trygghet och ett konsekvent rutin kan hon göra stor framsteg. Hon vill gärna vara den enda husdjuren i hemmet och är bäst lämpad för en lugn miljö med tillgång till områden med få hundar. Skye kan bli överarouderad vid andra hundar och upplever det frustrerande när hon inte får hälsa på dem, så hon behöver förstående ägare som är engagerade i att arbeta med hennes sociala färdigheter och hjälpa henne lära sig mer lugna beteenden kring hundvänner. Kontinuerlig positiv tränning kommer att vara avgörande för att hjälpa henne att känna sig mer avslappnad och självsikrad. I rätt hem kommer Skye blomstra till den mest lojala kompanjon. Hon älskar inget mer än att krya ihop med sina favoritmänniskor och vara en del av familjen. Skye is a beautiful girl with so much love to give. Beneath her slightly shy exterior is a truly affectionate girl who forms strong bonds with her people and absolutely adores a cuddle once she feels safe and comfortable. Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross Skye is a bright, affectionate girl with a huge personality and an even bigger zest for life. At only a year old, she still has a lot to learn about managing her excitement, but underneath all that energy is a sweet, people-loving dog who forms strong bonds with those she trusts. Skye finds kennel life frustrating and overwhelming, and this can make her behaviour look bigger than she really is. When her world becomes too restricted, she can become bouncy, vocal, mouthy or grabby with people. This is not coming from a “bad” place, but it does mean she needs adopters who are confident around strong, high-energy dogs and who can calmly help her decompress, rather than trying to manage her through pressure or confrontation. Once Skye knows you, she is wonderfully tactile and loves being close to her people; she enjoys fuss, play, exploring, sniffing, running, and throwing herself into life with full enthusiasm. She can be physically intense when excited, so she is looking for an adult home, or a home with resilient teenagers aged 14+, who can understand when she needs space and calm support. Skye is very interested in other dogs and enjoys socialising with dogs who match her rough-and-tumble play style. She can become frustrated when she cannot greet or play, and her play can be full-on, mouthy and body-slamming, so she is best suited to being the only animal in the home while she continues learning how to regulate. She would benefit from carefully chosen dog friends, secure-field play opportunities, and quiet walks where she can sniff, explore and come down from the excitement. Skye also finds being left difficult at the moment, so she will need a home where someone is around for most of the day initially. Her leaving hours will need to be built very gradually, with a predictable routine and plenty of support. She may also benefit from dog sitters or trusted family support while she settles. Skye will need several visits to the centre so she can build a relationship with her adopters before going home. Our Behaviour and Training Team will be involved in her rehoming and will support her new family with introductions, visitor routines, dog socialisation, and managing arousal and frustration. Skye is not a ready-made easy dog, but she is a special one. For the right people who can be patient, physically confident, kind, and willing to work on balancing between the structure and freedom she needs, she has the potential to become an incredibly loyal and loving member of the family.
