Eddie kwam oorspronkelijk bij ons van een fokker en had het geluk om geadopteerd te worden, maar helaas is hij teruggekeerd naar onze zorg. Eddie had het niet goed met de inheemse katten en begon ook tekens van resourcetrouw te tonen, vooral rond eten, wat in zijn nieuwe huis constante beheersing en begrip zal vereisen. Eddie is een slimme, liefdevolle jongen die zich verheugt op leren en geniet van een knuffel op zijn eigen voorwaarden. Hij weet al "zit", "lig", "poot" en "raak", en reageert prachtig op oefeningen. Hij is crate-gedrild, slaapt door de nacht in zijn crate en is zeer etenmotiveerd, waardoor hij snel leert. Hij heeft zelfs geleerd "geef" om items zoals sokken te wisselen voor een waardevoller beloning. Echter, Eddie heeft sommige gedragingen die zorgvuldig moeten worden beheerst. Hij is resourcetrouw rond eten en daarom mag hij geen snoepjes hebben die lang duren om op te eten, tenzij hij buiten is en niemand hem storet tijdens het eten. Hij is ook resourcetrouw als mensen koken (vooral vlees) of eten. Hij wordt heel gefocust en kan niet afgeleid worden totdat het eten verdwenen is, dus moet ofwel gecrateerd of in een aparte kamer gesloten worden tijdens elke soort etentijd, anders zal hij gegrommen, blaffen en kan beslissen om te springen en de verkeerde keuze te maken in zijn focus. Eddie kan ook bij overstimulatie beetjes doen, dus zijn adoptanten moeten rustig, consistent en zelfverzekerd zijn bij het stellen van duidelijke grenzen. Vanwege dit is hij op zoek naar een rustige en stilte gezin zonder kinderen, en idealiter met adoptanten die ervaring hebben met vergelijkbare gedragingen. Eddie mag niet met katten of kleine vurries leven en moet op een riem gehouden worden in gebieden waar ze mogelijk aanwezig zijn, evenals waar schapen of andere vee aanwezig zijn. Hij is zelfverzekerd genoeg om alleen te wonen, maar kan ook met een ander, rustig hondje dat ontspannen is, leven. Als er geen eten is, is Eddie een lieve jongen die liefdevol, intelligent en bereid is te behagen. Hij had goed aangepast aan het thuiskomen, deed het goed met leibandwandelingen en huisvesting en wij denken dat hij echt zal bloeien in de juiste omgeving. Eddie heeft veel potentie en heeft alleen iemand nodig die hem de structuur, begrip en stabiliteit kan bieden die hij nodig heeft om te stralen. Als u denkt dat u de juiste match voor Eddie kunt zijn, neem dan zeker een aanvraag in - hij wacht geduldig op de juiste persoon om te verschijnen. Eddie is door de dierenarts gezien vanwege pijnlijke oren en heeft behandeling gekregen om ze schoon en vrij van infecties te houden. Deze hond kan worden geadopteerd met een residente hond.

Eddie originally came to us from a breeder and was lucky enough to be adopted, but sadly he has been returned to our care. Eddie was not getting along with the resident cats and also began to show signs of resource guarding, particularly around food, which will need ongoing management and understanding in his new home. Eddie is a clever, affectionate young lad who thrives on learning and enjoys a cuddle on his own terms. He already knows sit, down, paw, and touch, and responds beautifully to training. He’s crate trained, sleeps through the night in his crate, and is very food motivated, which makes him a fast learner. He has even been taught “give” to help him swap items like socks for a higher-value reward. However, Eddie has some behaviours that need to be carefully managed. He does resource guard around food and for this reason he cannot have treats that take a long time to eat unless he is outside and nobody disturbs him while he's eating. He does also resource guard when humans are cooking (especially meat) or eating. He will become very focused and cannot be distracted until the food has gone so must either be crated or closed in a separate room during any kind of food time or he will growl, bark and can choose to lunge and make the wrong decision in his fixation. Eddie can also become nippy when overstimulated, so his adopters must be calm, consistent and confident in setting clear boundaries. Due to this, he is looking for a calm and quiet adult-only home with no visiting children, and ideally with adopters experienced in similar behaviours. Eddie cannot live with cats or small furries and should be kept on a lead in any areas where they might be present as well as where any sheep or livestock may be present. He is confident enough to be homed as an only dog but could also live with another kind, calm dog who is laid back. When food isn’t around, Eddie is a lovely boy who is affectionate, bright, and eager to please. Eddie has so much potential and just needs someone who can offer him the structure, understanding, and stability he needs to shine. He is so popular here at the rescue and his kennel mum especially adores him. He is so much fun to spend time with and so loving and affectionate. He absolutely adores having cuddles and equally adores running and zooming around our big play yard, which is so funny to watch! He is currently resting for a limp, and will be re-examined by the vets in a weeks time. "I absolutely adore this boy! He always puts a smile on my face when I see him and he always greets me by putting his front paws up on me for a cuddle. One of my favourite things is when I’m sitting in the back of the kennel and he comes over for fusses and cuddles, giving me kisses in return. He is full of energy and is super playful and loves to run around the big play yard. He has such a fun, goofy personality that is impossible not to love. He’s also a very clever boy who listens incredibly well. If I call him in the yard, he comes to me, and he will automatically sit politely for treats and meals. Eddie is happy to share toys both in the kennel and the yard - although squishy balls are definitely his exception! On walks, he has always been good saying hello to other dogs, though he does prefer females. Since his kennel buddy Topanga was adopted, he has been introduced to Maggie and has been doing brilliantly with her, respecting her space while also playing chase together in the yard. Eddie’s a ladies man what can I say. He really is just the softest baby. Once you’ve built that bond with him, it’s a bond for life. Like any other dog he just wants to feel safe and loved. To me he truly is a perfect angel that unfortunately keeps getting overlooked." This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
