Introducing our Lovely Lola! Lola is quite a character and will require a very understanding and patient home to take on this dramatic and zoomie-prone lady. She is looking for a rural home with a secure, private garden that will provide a safe and quiet area for her to zip around in and explore. She will need to be in a home where people are around most of the day, although we do believe she will be okay to be left for short periods of time once she is settled. Lola is currently unable to go on walks and we are still working on some harness and lead desensitisation with her. This will need continuing in the home and we are hopeful that once settled in a new house she will be able to begin walks in very quiet areas while she gradually builds confidence – But this must not be rushed! Lola is opinionated at the best of times and while she does sometimes seek out affection from her handlers & favourite people and enjoys a neck scratch, she often does not want affection and can become conflicted so will need an understanding family that will be respectful of what Lola wants and not push affection on her. She is fearful in the vets and will require a muzzle for vet handling to keep everyone safe. She can be anxious of new people when initially meeting them but will typically warm up after a few meets and be more comfortable around them. Lola MUST live in an adult only home and there should not be any visiting children to the home either. She has shown to be good with other dogs so far so we believe she may be able to make some dog friends to assist in building her confidence. We will be mixing her with another dog on site soon so will update her assessment soon if we feel she’d be able to live with another dog. Lola will make a fantastic companion for the right person, in the right environment but will require further training and work in her forever home. She is playful and enjoys playing with toys and will often initiate play by herself especially when zooming!
