Hope Rescue wordt beheerd door een team van toegewijde bestuursleden die een passie hebben voor dierenwelzijn en een visie op een toekomst waarin alle honden met zorg, vriendelijkheid en respect worden behandeld. Onze bestuursleden spelen een cruciale rol bij het bieden van leidinggeving, verantwoordelijkheid en ondersteuning om de maatschappelijke instelling tot bloei te brengen. Ze geven vrijwillig hun tijd, kennis en energie aan de maatschappelijke instelling en zijn verantwoordelijk voor het toezicht houden op de bedrijfsvoering en ons leiden naar het vervullen van onze missie. Elk bestuurslid heeft een belangrijke rol bij Hope Rescue en je kunt ze allemaal hieronder ontmoeten. Sarah is blij om verder te werken met het team van Hope Rescue om de strategische plannen te bespreken en te ontwikkelen (naast andere activiteiten), aangezien Hope Rescue de laatste jaren is gegroeid en het sectorhuidige uitdagingen heeft geleverd. Sarah werd in 2023 gekozen als voorzitter van het bestuur/raad van Hope Rescue en heeft meer dan 15 jaar ervaring in verkoop en marketing, momenteel werkt zij als commerciële manager binnen de staalindustrie in Zuid-Wales. Sarah is blij om verder te werken met het team van Hope Rescue om de strategische plannen te bespreken en te ontwikkelen (naast andere activiteiten), aangezien Hope Rescue de laatste jaren is gegroeid en het sectorhuidige uitdagingen heeft geleverd. Sarah woont net buiten Cardiff met haar man en de hond van Hope Rescue Murray, die een husky-kruising is – ze genieten van wandelen, rennen en triathlons, evenals reizen. Dit ervaring heeft Carl echt laten waarderen wat Hope Rescue doet om honden zoals Indi een tweede kans te geven op een liefdevol huis. Carl heeft meer dan 25 jaar ervaring in financiële dienstverlening, met een achtergrond in Verkoop, Marketing en Relatiebeheer. Als ervaren spreker gebruikt Carl deze vaardigheden professioneel om financiële adviseurs te helpen om met klanten over te gaan op het beschermen van wat ze liefhebben… en nu brengt hij deze talenten als board-ambassadeur (en af en toe quizmeester!) bij Hope Rescue evenementen. Honden hebben altijd een speciale plek ingenomen in Cars hart en gezinsleven. Hij deelt momenteel zijn huis met twee terriërs, Watson en Indi, die een hond is die is gered door een lage-waarde fokker en is verlaten in slechte gezondheidstoestand toen hij geen nut meer had voor zijn eigenaar. Deze ervaring heeft Carl echt laten waarderen wat Hope Rescue doet om honden zoals Indi een tweede kans te geven op een liefdevol huis. Naast bestuurslid van Hope Rescue, vrijwilligt Carl ook als voorzitter van het bestuur voor een klein lokale vereniging die jonge volwassenen mentort en de gemeenschap ondersteunt. Tom is sinds zijn 15e betrokken bij Hope Rescue, waar hij vrijwillig werkte voor de organisatie met het helpen bij het verhogen van fondsen, het verzorgen en transporteren van honden in lijn met de behoeften van de organisatie, hij ging daarna in 2023 over naar het Bestuursbestuur van Hope Rescue om de operationele teams te ondersteunen. Tom is sinds zijn 15e betrokken bij Hope Rescue, waar hij vrijwillig werkte voor de organisatie met het helpen bij het verhogen van fondsen, het verzorgen en transporteren van honden in lijn met de behoeften van de organisatie, hij ging daarna in 2023 over naar het Bestuursbestuur van Hope Rescue om de operationele teams te ondersteunen. Een passie voor dierenwelzijn en opleiding leidde Tom (hij/zij) naar het volgen van een BSc (Hons) in Bio-veterinaire wetenschappen en een MSc in Klinisch Diergedrag van de University of Lincoln. Momenteel werkt Tom als senior trainer en gedragsadviseur bij de grootste hondewelzijnsorganisatie in het VK, waar hij de training en gedragsploegen in het zuidwesten ondersteunt. Tom is erkend klinisch diergedragist bij de Animal Behaviour and Training Council (VK) en erkende hondengedragsexpert en erkende sheltergedragsspecialist bij de International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants en lid van het faculteit en CBATI-KA van de Grisha Stewart Academy. Tom draagt ook ‘Simplifying Shelter Behaviour’ een Facebook-pagina en podcast gewijd aan het geven van up-to-date positieve training en gedrags tips en trucs aan personeel en vrijwilligers van shelters en reddingsorganisaties. Hondenliefhebber Julie komt oorspronkelijk uit het Midden van Engeland, maar verhuisde in 2000 naar Cardiff en woont met haar echtgenoot, twee kinderen en de hond van Hope Rescue, Huey, in Llanishen, Cardiff. Julie heeft meer dan 25 jaar ervaring in financiële functies zowel in retail als in de productie en werkt momenteel als Financieel Controller in de zorgsector. Julie is de nieuwste toevoeging aan het Bestuursbestuur van Hope Rescue en is blij om bij het team te komen en haar vaardigheden en ervaring te gebruiken om Hope Rescue voort te zetten met het uitstekende werk dat het doet om zo veel mogelijk kwetsbare honden te helpen. Ann is blij om samen te werken met het team van Hope Rescue om hun People en Culture-plannen te bespreken en te ontwikkelen, zodat het team verder kan gaan met het fantastische werk dat het doet om kwetsbare honden te helpen en mensen te onderwijzen. Wij zijn blij Ann Rowley te mogen verwelkomen op het Bestuursbestuur van Hope Rescue. Ann heeft 20 jaar ervaring in HR en loopt momenteel haar eigen HR-consultancy in Zuid-Wales. Ann woont met haar verloofde, de hond van Hope Rescue Nigel, en twee katten (één van hen deed mee bij de fotoshoot). Ze had altijd honden in haar leven, groeide op met andere familieleden die honden hadden, maar nadat ze Nigel adopteerde, heeft ze het positieve effect en de liefde die honden in levens brengen zelf ervaren. Nigel was gered nadat zijn vorige baas hem wilde gebruiken als strijdhond, hem mishandelde en zijn oren had laten knippen. Hij houdt nu van modelleren met verschillende oren die ze voor hem hakt. Ann is blij om samen te werken met het team van Hope Rescue om hun People en Culture-plannen te bespreken en te ontwikkelen, zodat het team verder kan gaan met het fantastische werk dat het doet om kwetsbare honden te helpen en mensen te onderwijzen. Hij was al jaren betrokken bij de organisatie als deel van het Fostering Network, en hij en zijn familie verzorgen momenteel hun vierde fosterhond. Het zien van de ongelooflijke werk van Hope Rescue heeft het tot een zaak gemaakt die heel dicht bij zijn hart ligt. Hij was al jaren betrokken bij de organisatie als deel van het Fostering Network, en hij en zijn familie verzorgen momenteel hun vierde fosterhond. Het zien van de ongelooflijke werk van Hope Rescue heeft het tot een zaak gemaakt die heel dicht bij zijn hart ligt. Professioneel heeft hij zijn eigen bedrijf gerund voor meer dan 20 jaar, en hij kijkt er naar uit om die ervaring te gebruiken om de maatschappelijke instelling te ondersteunen, met name bij advies over bedrijfsstrategie terwijl deze groeit en nog meer honden in nood helpt. Buiten werk en verzorging is hij een enthousiaste, maar verre van snelle, loper. Hij nadert zijn 250e parkrun en heeft twee Londense marathons en drie Ironman-evenementen op zijn naam. Maar boven alles is hij gewoon iemand die honden liefheeft en trots is om een klein deel te spelen in het uitstekende

Hope Rescue is governed by a team of dedicated Trustees who share a passion for animal welfare and a vision of a future where all dogs are treated with care, kindness and respect. Our Trustees play a vital role in providing leadership, accountability, and support to help the charity thrive. They give their time, expertise and energy to the charity on a voluntary basis and are responsible for overseeing operations and guide us towards fulfilling our mission. Each Trustee has a key role here at Hope Rescue and you can meet them all below. Sarah is excited to continue to work alongside the Hope Rescue team to review and develop the strategic plan (alongside other activities), given the growth of Hope Rescue in recent years and the challenges faced within the sector. Sarah was elected Chair of Trustees/Board for Hope Rescue in 2023 and has over 15 years’ experience in sales and marketing, currently working as a commercial manager within the Steel industry based in South Wales. Sarah is excited to continue to work alongside the Hope Rescue team to review and develop the strategic plan (alongside other activities), given the growth of Hope Rescue in recent years and the challenges faced within the sector. Sarah lives just outside Cardiff with her husband and Hope Rescue dog Murray, who is a husky cross - they enjoy walking, running and triathlons, as well as travelling. This experience has made Carl truly appreciate the incredible work that Hope Rescue do to make sure dogs like Indi have a second chance at a loving home. Carl has over 25 years of experience in financial services, with a background in Sales, Marketing and Relationship Management. As an experienced presenter, Carl uses those skills professionally to help financial advisers talk to clients about looking after what they love…and now brings these talents as a board ambassador (and occasional quizmaster!) at Hope Rescue events. Dogs have always held a special place in Carl’s heart and family life. He currently shares his home with two terriers, Watson and Indi, who is a rescue dog used by a low welfare breeder and abandoned in a poor state of health when no longer of any use to their owner. This experience has made Carl truly appreciate the incredible work that Hope Rescue do to make sure dogs like Indi have a second chance at a loving home. As well as a trustee for Hope Rescue, Carl also volunteers as a Chair of Trustees for a small local charity that mentors young adults and supports the community. Tom has been involved with Hope Rescue since the age of 15 where he volunteered for the charity helping with fundraising, fostering and transporting dogs in line with the charity's needs, he then joined the Hope Rescue Board of Trustees in 2023 to support the operations teams. Tom is a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (UK) and a Certified Canine Behaviour Consultant and Certified Shelter Behaviour Specialist with the International association of Animal Behaviour Consultants and a member of faculty and CBATI-KA with the Grisha Stewart Academy.Tom also runs ‘Simplifying Shelter Behaviour’ a Facebook page and podcast dedicated to bringing up to date, positive based training and behaviour tips and tricks to shelter and rescue staff and volunteers. Dog lover Julie is originally from the Midlands but moved to Cardiff in 2000 and lives with her husband, two children and Hope rescue dog, Huey, in Llanishen, Cardiff. Julie is our most recent addition to Hopes’ Board of Trustees and is excited to be joining the team an bringing her skills and experience to help Hope Rescue continue doing amazing work helping as many vulnerable dogs as possible. Ann lives with her fiancé, rescue dog Nigel, and two cats (one of which joined in the photoshoot). She has always had dogs in her life growing up with other family members having them, but after adopting Nigel has now felt first hand the positivity and love they bring to lives. Nigel was rescued after his previous owner tried to use him as a fighting dog, mistreated him, and cropped his ears. He now loves modelling different ears that she crochets for him. Ann is excited to work alongside the Hope Rescue team to review and develop their People and Culture plans to enable the team to continue with the amazing work they do helping vulnerable dogs and educating people. He has been involved with the charity for several years as part of the Fostering Network, and he and his family are currently caring for their fourth foster dog. Outside of work and fostering, he is an enthusiastic, but far from quick, runner. He is closing in on his 250th parkrun and has two London marathons and three Ironman events under his belt. But above all else, he is simply someone who loves dogs and is proud to play a small part in the amazing work Hope Rescue does.
