Holiday trafiła do nas z hodowcy. Holiday to bardzo straszną dziewczynka, która jest przepełniona, by znaleźć się tutaj i jasno pokazuje, że wcześniej nie miała wielu doświadczeń społecznych. Współpraca z ludźmi jest dla niej obecnie bardzo trudna i jest bardzo skryta, więc potrzebuje cierpliwej i zrozumiałej rodziny, która może pomóc jej wyjść spod swojej skórki na własnym tempie. Holiday ucieknie, gdy wchodzi do jej klatki i nie lubi być podnoszona lub dotykana. To tak straszne dla niej, że jeśli poczuje się poza swoją strefą komfortu, może reagować ugryzieniem lub szczęknięciem z lęku. Raz ugryziała poprzednich opiekunów, gdy została przewlekła w czasie obsługi. Od czasu powrotu do nas Holiday zaczęła robić naprawdę zachęcające postępy. Holiday zaczyna też pokazywać więcej swojej osobowości. Jest często jedną z pierwszych, które przychodzą po przekąskę, a nawet zaczęła machać ogonem. Choć może się wydawać niewielką rzeczą, dla Holiday to prawdziwy specjalny moment i miły znak, że zaczyna czuć się trochę bezpieczniej. Dlatego Holiday będzie szukała spokojnego i cichego, jedynie dorosłego domu bez wizyt dzieci. Potrzebuje opiekunów, którzy mają doświadczenie z strasznymi psami z hodowli i którzy pozwolą jej powoli się oswoić, bez presji czy oczekiwań. Holiday cieszy się i cieszy się obecnością swoich canine przyjaciół i potrzebuje co najmniej jednego innego uprzejmego i pewnego piesa w nowym domu. Tworzy bliskie więzi z innymi psami i zdobywa pewność siebie, będąc razem z nimi, często opierając się na nich w poszukiwaniu pociechy i wskazówek. Mimo tego, że spędziła trochę czasu w opiece i została przyjęta na krótki czas, nigdy przedtem nie mieszkała w domu, więc Holiday nadal musi nauczyć się wszystkiego o życiu w domu, w tym treningu higienicznego. Holiday jest na dobrej drodze, ale potrzebuje czasu, cierpliwości i zrozumienia, by kontynuować postęp. Holiday originally came to us from a breeder. She was adopted and found a lovely home, but sadly it wasn't the right match for her as the resident dog wouldn't accept her, so she came back into our care. Holiday has since moved into foster care where she has settled beautifully and has made some wonderful progress. Holiday is a very sensitive girl who had very little socialisation before coming into our care. When she first returned to us, she found people incredibly worrying and was very hand-shy. Her first instinct was always to run away, and she wasn't comfortable being picked up or handled. If she felt pushed beyond her comfort zone, she could react by nipping out of fear, so her adopters will need to understand her body language and never push her further than she is comfortable with. Since moving into foster care, Holiday has come along in leaps and bounds and is growing in confidence every week. She will now happily stay on the sofa while her foster family are in the room and will even accept gentle strokes while she is there. She knows the command 'touch' and will happily touch her foster's hand when asked. She is also very happy to jump up at their legs when she knows treats are coming! She is becoming much more engaged with people and will often look to her foster for reassurance, wagging her tail and enjoying being part of family life. Holiday can now have a harness put on, although she is still a little unsure about it and will make herself as heavy as possible while it is being fitted! She has also discovered that walks can be great fun and is now enjoying walks through the park with her bestie. She looks back at her foster constantly and wags her tail, which is lovely to see. She even recently visited a dog activity centre with 11 other family dogs and absolutely loved it! Holiday has also shown that she can travel well with her canine friends. She doesn't like enclosed spaces, so a crate isn't suitable for her, but she travelled beautifully in the van with her friends using double seatbelts. She was a very good girl throughout her trip back to the centre, where she also had a lovely haircut and her vaccinations. Holiday will still be looking for a calm, quiet, adult-only home with no visiting children. She will need adopters who are experienced with scared ex-breeding dogs and who are happy to continue building her confidence at her own pace. She relies heavily on other dogs for comfort and reassurance and would definitely like a home with more than one kind and confident resident dog to help guide her. Minus her brief adoption, Holiday had never lived in a home before, but she has settled brilliantly into foster care and has established a lovely routine. She is now mostly clean in the house and has only had one overnight accident when she had a poorly tummy. She absolutely adores the other dogs and takes great comfort from having her canine friends around her. Holiday is a very special little girl who has already come such a long way. She is learning that people can be kind and that home life can be fun, and it is wonderful to see her confidence growing. She still has a journey ahead of her, but with patient and experienced adopters, plenty of understanding and the support of her canine friends, we hope she will continue to blossom and enjoy everything her new life has to offer. Holiday has a Grade 1 heart murmur. This doesn't require any medication at the moment but is something her adopters and their vet will need to monitor going forwards. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
