On przebywa u nas w szpitalu w Calvià ponad trzy miesiące, nasz sześciolatek, samiec niemieckiego owczarka. W grudniu został przekazany nam razem ze swoim przyjacielem psem Rusty (dla którego szybko znaleźliśmy świetne długotrwałe opiekunki na wyspie), ponieważ jego rodzina wyjechała z wyspy. Pedrin to bardzo przyjazny i miły samiec, który nie miał wielu doświadczeń w życiu. Spędził większość czasu na fincy, ale z rodziną i dziećmi. Niestety nie było długich spacerów ani wspólnych aktywności, więc Pedrin musiał nauczyć się wielu nowych rzeczy lub nauczyć się nowych rzeczy. Dziś możemy powiedzieć, że już bardzo dobrze sobie radzi. Lubisz spacerować razem i już chodzi całkiem dobrze na smyczy (o ile nie ma dużych odstępstw) i możesz zauważyć, że to naprawdę mądry chłopaczek, który bardzo ceni się uczenie się nowych rzeczy pod odpowiednim kierunkiem i potem może zastosować to, czego się nauczył. Ale oczywiście, takie rzeczy są tutaj pewnie ignorowane w szpitalu. Jego największa pasja to piłki – Pedrin naprawdę nie widzi nic innego i prawie nie da się zatrzymać. Ale zawsze w bardzo przyjazny sposób. Jednak aktualnie pracujemy nad tym, aby nauczyć się skupiać na innych rzeczach. Pedrin lubi ćwiczenia i aktywność i naprawdę potrzebuje ludzi, którzy cenią to i robią dużo z nim. Oczywiście, powinien i chce być pełnym członkiem rodziny i dzieciom, które już rozumieją psy, nie stanowi problemu. Jednak one powinny już potrafić zachowywać się w sposób dogodny dla psów. Pedrin to na pewno nie pies miejski dla nas – powinien żyć jak najbardziej blisko natury i najlepiej z ogrodem. Kocury nie powinny być w jego nowym domu. Powinien stopniowo nauczyć się interakcji z innymi psami, ponieważ przez ostatnie lata mieszkał wyłącznie z swoim towarzyszem Rusty i nie miał wielu kontaktów z innymi psami. To naprawdę świetny i bystry pies z dużym potencjałem i bardzo liczymy, że szybko znajdziemy odpowiednich ludzi dla niego.

He has been at our shelter in Calvià for over three months now, our six-year-old male German shepherd. In December he was handed over to us together with his dog buddy Rusty (for whom we quickly found a great permanent foster home on the island) because his family had left the island. Pedrin is a very friendly and sweet male dog who hasn’t really experienced much in his life. He spent most of his time on a finca, but with a family and children. Unfortunately, there were no long walks or joint activities, so Pedrin had to learn a lot of new things or learn new things. Today we can say that he has already done really well. He loves going for walks together and already walks quite well on the lead (as long as there are no major distractions) and you can tell that he’s a really smart little guy who really enjoys learning new things under the right guidance and can then put what he’s learned into practice. But of course, things like that are definitely neglected here at the shelter. His absolute passion is balls – Pedrin really can’t see anything else and can hardly be stopped. But always in a very friendly way. However, we are currently working on getting him to focus on other things. Pedrin loves exercise and activity and he really needs people who enjoy this and who do a lot with him. Of course, he should and wants to be a full member of the family and children who already understand dogs are no problem at all. However, they should already be able to behave in a dog-friendly manner. Pedrin is definitely not just a city dog for us – he should be allowed to live as close to nature as possible and preferably with a garden. Cats should not be in his new home. He needs to gradually learn how to interact with other dogs, as he has lived exclusively with his buddy Rusty for the last few years and hasn’t really had much contact with other dogs. He is a really great and clever dog with lots of potential and we really hope that we will find the right people for him very soon.
