Rex chegou ao abrigo após viver com um grupo de pessoas sem-teto que já não conseguiam cuidar dele. Eles o amavam e queriam algo melhor, um lar seguro e estável onde ele pudesse prosperar. Tendo vivido a maior parte da vida nas ruas, Rex está agora aprendendo o que significa fazer parte de um ambiente estruturado. Ele é um rapaz grande e bonito, com uma personalidade extrovertida e um coração ainda maior. Rex é muito sociável com as pessoas e ama interação humana, embora possa ficar um pouco exaltado e pular em cima, algo que estamos trabalhando ativamente com ele. Ele está atualmente recebendo treinamento com a ajuda de um treinador profissional de cães para ajudá-lo a se adaptar a uma vida de rotina, regras e companhia. Embora ele não tenha sido bem socializado com outros cães quando filhote, ele está fazendo um progresso fantástico. Rex é inteligente, ávido para aprender e responde bem a orientação consistente. Ainda não temos certeza de como Rex se comporta com crianças, então um lar com adultos ou adolescentes mais velhos pode ser mais adequado enquanto ele continua seu treinamento. Ele também ainda está se ajustando à vida no canil, que é muito diferente da liberdade que ele conhecia. Fora do canil, ele se transforma. Rex came to the refuge after living with a group of homeless people who could no longer care for him. They loved him and wanted something better ,a safe, stable home where he could thrive. Having lived most of his life on the streets, Rex is now learning what it means to be part of a structured environment. He’s a large, handsome boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Rex is very sociable with people and loves human interaction, though he can get a bit overexcited and jump up something we’re actively working on with him. He’s currently undergoing training with the help of a professional dog trainer to help him adjust to a life of routine, rules, and companionship. While he wasn’t well socialised with other dogs as a puppy, he’s making fantastic progress. Rex is smart, eager to learn, and responds well to consistent guidance. We’re not yet sure how Rex is with children, so a home with adults or older teens may be most suitable while he continues his training. He’s also still adjusting to life in the kennel, which is very different from the freedom he’s known . Outside the kennel, he transforms. Give him space and time outdoors, and you’ll see his playful, loving nature shine through. Rex needs an experienced, patient adopter who’s willing to continue his training and support his transition into a more structured life. A home without small children and with space for him to stretch his legs would be ideal. In return, you’ll have a loyal, intelligent companion who’s learning how to love and be loved in return.
