Toucan é um jovem muito atraente e ativo que originalmente nos veio de um criador. Foi adotado por um curto período de tempo, mas infelizmente voltou para o resgate. Toucan foi adotado por uma família e embora ele amasse toda a família, houve um incidente isolado em que ele estava dormindo em sua cama e foi acidentalmente assustado pela criança mais velha da casa. Acordando repentinamente e se sentindo assustado, Toucan reagiu em pânico e mordeu antes de imediatamente se afastar. Acreditamos que essa reação foi puramente devido a estar assustado enquanto dormia, mas por esse motivo, Toucan procurará um lar somente com adultos, sem crianças visitantes. Seus adotantes precisarão lhe oferecer um espaço silencioso e seguro onde ele possa descansar sem ser perturbado e se sentir totalmente relaxado. Toucan é um jovem inteligente e amigável que gosta de conhecer novas pessoas e, dado tempo para construir um vínculo, forma lindas relações com seus humanos. Ele é carinhoso e envolvente, e com a orientação certa, será uma ótima adição para uma casa comprometida. Ele é um rapaz ativo que ama suas caminhadas e explorar o mundo ao seu redor. Atualmente, ele pode ser forte na coleira, pois tem vontade de sair e cheirar tudo o que vê, então seus adotantes precisarão continuar trabalhando no treinamento de coleira e ajudá-lo a andar mais calmamente. Toucan é um garoto esperto que veio até nós com pouca formação anterior, mas está aprendendo rapidamente. Ele se beneficiará de uma rotina consistente e treinamento contínuo para ajudá-lo a se sentir seguro e entender as expectativas. Oferecendo-lhe estrutura, junto com espaços de descanso silenciosos onde ele não será perturbado, será fundamental para ajudá-lo a gerenciar quaisquer ansiedades. Toucan se dá bem com outros cães quando está fora, mas devido a uma altercação anterior com um cão em acolhimento, achamos que ele seria melhor adequado a ser o único cão em casa, para que ele possa aproveitar seu próprio espaço e continuar progredindo. Como Toucan não teve uma vida em casa consistente, ele ainda pode precisar de apoio com alguns fundamentos, mas ele é um garoto inteligente e deseja aprender. Toucan is a very handsome and active boy who originally came to us from a breeder. He was adopted for a short period of time, but unfortunately found himself back in rescue. Toucan was adopted into a family home and though he loved the whole family, there was one isolated incident where he was snoozing in his bed and was accidentally startled by the older child in the home. Waking suddenly and feeling frightened, Toucan reacted in panic and gave a nip before immediately moving away. We believe this response was purely due to being startled while asleep, but for this reason, Toucan will be looking for an adult-only home where there are no visiting children. His adopters will need to provide him with a quiet, safe space where he can rest undisturbed and feel completely relaxed. Toucan spent some time in a foster home, but sadly it became clear that his preference was to be an only dog and he didn't enjoy sharing his home with another dog. He does get along well with other dogs when out and about and is fine passing them on walks etc, he would just prefer not to share his space with them. We think he is going to love being the only dog in the home where he can get all the love and attention for himself. Toucan is a bright and friendly boy who enjoys meeting new people and, given time to build a bond, forms lovely relationships with his humans. He is affectionate and engaging, and with the right guidance, will make a wonderful addition to a committed home. He is an active lad who loves his walks and exploring the world around him. At present, he can be strong on the lead as he is eager to get out and sniff everything he sees, so his adopters will need to continue working on his lead training and help him learn to walk more calmly. He is currently being trained to walk on a halti here. His absolute favourite thing in the world is playing with a ball and he just lives to play fetch! He would choose his ball over a treat any day and has proven himself to be the best ball catcher the rescue has seen! Toucan is a clever boy who is picking things up quickly. He will benefit from a consistent routine and ongoing training to help him feel secure and understand expectations. Providing him with structure, alongside quiet resting spaces where he won’t be disturbed, will be key in helping him manage any anxieties. Although he has lived in a home, he may need some reminders about home life and skills like house training as he settles back into home life. Toucan is a fun, intelligent, and affectionate boy who, with the right experienced adopters, routine, and understanding, will grow into a fantastic and rewarding companion. Our vets have noted that his back legs are slightly deflected outward, but this isn’t causing him any issues. Toucan has a travel document.
