Toucan est un jeune très séduisant et actif qui est initialement venu à nous provenant d'un éleveur. Il a été adopté pendant une courte période, mais malheureusement s'est retrouvé de nouveau en refuge. Toucan a été adopté par une famille et bien qu'il ait aimé toute la famille, il y a eu un incident isolé où il faisait la sieste dans son lit et a été accidentellement effrayé par l'enfant aîné de la maison. Se réveillant brusquement et se sentant effrayé, Toucan a réagi paniquement en donnant un petit coup de dents avant de s'éloigner immédiatement. Nous croyons que cette réaction était due uniquement à être surpris alors qu'il dormait, mais à cause de cela, Toucan cherchera un foyer composé uniquement d'adultes sans enfants en visite. Ses adopteurs devront lui offrir un espace calme et sécurisé où il pourra reposer sans être dérangé et se sentir complètement détendu. Toucan est un jeune brillant et sympathique qui apprécie de rencontrer de nouvelles personnes et, avec du temps pour créer un lien, forme de belles relations avec ses humains. Il est affectueux et engageant, et avec la bonne guidance, fera un merveilleux ajout à un foyer engagé. C'est un jeune dynamique qui adore ses promenades et l'exploration du monde autour de lui. Actuellement, il peut être fort sur la laisse car il est impatient de sortir et de renifler tout ce qu'il voit, donc ses adopteurs devront continuer à travailler sur son entraînement à la laisse et l'aider à marcher plus calmement. Toucan est un jeune intelligent qui est venu à nous avec très peu de formation précédente, mais il apprend rapidement. Il bénéficiera d'une routine constante et d'un entraînement continu pour l'aider à se sentir en sécurité et à comprendre les attentes. Lui fournir une structure, accompagnée d'espaces de repos tranquilles où il ne sera pas dérangé, sera essentiel pour l'aider à gérer ses anxiétés. Toucan s'entend bien avec d'autres chiens lors des sorties, mais en raison d'un conflit antérieur avec un chien en garde, nous pensons qu'il serait mieux adapté à être le seul chien du foyer afin qu'il puisse profiter de son propre espace et continuer à prospérer. Étant donné que Toucan n'a pas eu de vie à domicile stable, il pourrait encore avoir besoin d'aide pour certaines bases, mais c'est un jeune intelligent qui est prêt à apprendre. Toucan est un jeune amusant, intelligent et affectueux qui, avec les bons adoptants expérimentés, une routine et une compréhension, grandira en un merveilleux et gratifiant compagnon. Nos vétérinaires ont noté que ses jambes arrière sont légèrement orientées vers l'extérieur, mais cela ne lui cause aucun problème. Toucan possède un document de voyage.

Toucan is a very handsome and active boy who originally came to us from a breeder. He was adopted for a short period of time, but unfortunately found himself back in rescue. Toucan was adopted into a family home and though he loved the whole family, there was one isolated incident where he was snoozing in his bed and was accidentally startled by the older child in the home. Waking suddenly and feeling frightened, Toucan reacted in panic and gave a nip before immediately moving away. We believe this response was purely due to being startled while asleep, but for this reason, Toucan will be looking for an adult-only home where there are no visiting children. His adopters will need to provide him with a quiet, safe space where he can rest undisturbed and feel completely relaxed. Toucan spent some time in a foster home, but sadly it became clear that his preference was to be an only dog and he didn't enjoy sharing his home with another dog. He does get along well with other dogs when out and about and is fine passing them on walks etc, he would just prefer not to share his space with them. We think he is going to love being the only dog in the home where he can get all the love and attention for himself. Toucan is a bright and friendly boy who enjoys meeting new people and, given time to build a bond, forms lovely relationships with his humans. He is affectionate and engaging, and with the right guidance, will make a wonderful addition to a committed home. He is an active lad who loves his walks and exploring the world around him. At present, he can be strong on the lead as he is eager to get out and sniff everything he sees, so his adopters will need to continue working on his lead training and help him learn to walk more calmly. He is currently being trained to walk on a halti here. His absolute favourite thing in the world is playing with a ball and he just lives to play fetch! He would choose his ball over a treat any day and has proven himself to be the best ball catcher the rescue has seen! Toucan is a clever boy who is picking things up quickly. He will benefit from a consistent routine and ongoing training to help him feel secure and understand expectations. Providing him with structure, alongside quiet resting spaces where he won’t be disturbed, will be key in helping him manage any anxieties. Although he has lived in a home, he may need some reminders about home life and skills like house training as he settles back into home life. Toucan is a fun, intelligent, and affectionate boy who, with the right experienced adopters, routine, and understanding, will grow into a fantastic and rewarding companion. Our vets have noted that his back legs are slightly deflected outward, but this isn’t causing him any issues. Toucan has a travel document.
