Toucan è un ragazzo molto bello e vivace che originariamente è arrivato da un allevatore. È stato adottato per un breve periodo, ma purtroppo si è ritrovato nuovamente in soccorso. Toucan è stato adottato da una famiglia e anche se amava tutta la famiglia, c'è stato un incidente isolato in cui era sdraiato nel suo letto e è stato accidentalmente svegliato dal bambino più grande della casa. Svegliandosi improvvisamente e sentendosi spaventato, Toucan ha reagito con panico e ha dato un morso prima di allontanarsi immediatamente. Crediamo che questa reazione fosse dovuta esclusivamente al fatto di essere stato svegliato mentre dormiva, ma per questo motivo Toucan cercherà una casa solo per adulti, senza visitatori bambini. I suoi adottatori dovranno fornirgli uno spazio tranquillo e sicuro dove può riposare indisturbato e sentirsi completamente rilassato. Toucan è un ragazzo intelligente e amichevole che ama conoscere nuove persone e, dato il tempo per costruire un legame, forma bellissime relazioni con i suoi umani. È affettuoso e coinvolgente, e con la giusta guida, farà un'ottima aggiunta a una casa impegnata. È un ragazzo energico che ama le sue passeggiate e l'esplorazione del mondo intorno a lui. Al momento può essere forte alla guinzaglio poiché è ansioso di uscire e annusare ogni cosa che vede, quindi i suoi adottatori dovranno continuare a lavorare sul suo addestramento alla guinzaglia e aiutarlo a camminare in modo più calmo. Toucan è un ragazzo intelligente che è arrivato da noi con poco addestramento precedente ma sta imparando velocemente. Beneficherà di una routine costante e di un addestramento continuo per aiutarlo a sentirsi sicuro e capire le aspettative. Fornirgli struttura, insieme a spazi tranquilli dove non verrà disturbato, sarà fondamentale per aiutarlo a gestire le sue ansie. Toucan si intende bene con altri cani quando è fuori, ma a causa di un alterco precedente con un cane in cura, crediamo che sia meglio che sia l'unico cane in casa in modo che possa godersi il suo spazio e continuare a prosperare. Poiché Toucan non ha avuto una vita stabile, potrebbe ancora aver bisogno di supporto per alcune basi, ma è un ragazzo sveglio che è pronto a imparare. Toucan è un ragazzo divertente, intelligente e affettuoso che, con adottatori esperti, routine e comprensione, crescerà diventando un fantastico e premiante compagno. Toucan is a very handsome and active boy who originally came to us from a breeder. He was adopted for a short period of time, but unfortunately found himself back in rescue. Toucan was adopted into a family home and though he loved the whole family, there was one isolated incident where he was snoozing in his bed and was accidentally startled by the older child in the home. Waking suddenly and feeling frightened, Toucan reacted in panic and gave a nip before immediately moving away. We believe this response was purely due to being startled while asleep, but for this reason, Toucan will be looking for an adult-only home where there are no visiting children. His adopters will need to provide him with a quiet, safe space where he can rest undisturbed and feel completely relaxed. Toucan spent some time in a foster home, but sadly it became clear that his preference was to be an only dog and he didn't enjoy sharing his home with another dog. He does get along well with other dogs when out and about and is fine passing them on walks etc, he would just prefer not to share his space with them. We think he is going to love being the only dog in the home where he can get all the love and attention for himself. Toucan is a bright and friendly boy who enjoys meeting new people and, given time to build a bond, forms lovely relationships with his humans. He is affectionate and engaging, and with the right guidance, will make a wonderful addition to a committed home. He is an active lad who loves his walks and exploring the world around him. At present, he can be strong on the lead as he is eager to get out and sniff everything he sees, so his adopters will need to continue working on his lead training and help him learn to walk more calmly. He is currently being trained to walk on a halti here. His absolute favourite thing in the world is playing with a ball and he just lives to play fetch! He would choose his ball over a treat any day and has proven himself to be the best ball catcher the rescue has seen! Toucan is a clever boy who is picking things up quickly. He will benefit from a consistent routine and ongoing training to help him feel secure and understand expectations. Providing him with structure, alongside quiet resting spaces where he won’t be disturbed, will be key in helping him manage any anxieties. Although he has lived in a home, he may need some reminders about home life and skills like house training as he settles back into home life. Toucan is a fun, intelligent, and affectionate boy who, with the right experienced adopters, routine, and understanding, will grow into a fantastic and rewarding companion. Our vets have noted that his back legs are slightly deflected outward, but this isn’t causing him any issues. Toucan has a travel document.
