Mamma lor s-a dus după puțin timp, iar cei doi frați au fost împreună de atunci. Alma a devenit un pisică socială, afecțiunată, care adoră atenția oamenilor. Koky, pe de altă parte, rămâne timid – el încredințează doar surora sa. Alma a avut ocazii să fie adoptată singură, dar refuză să-l lase pe Koky în urmă. Legătura lor este liniștită, profundă și nepieritoare. Locul unde sunt acum îngrijite este vândut, ceea ce face situația urgentă.
