16-04-26 Olive a venit la noi din România ca câine mic împreună cu frații ei și a fost adoptată rapid. Din păcate, a fost returnată recent deoarece găsise viața într-un oraș aglomerat și o casă aglomerată prea încărcată. Caută un mediu liniștit și quiet, doar cu adulți, unde să se adapteze la propriul ritm. Considerăm că ar beneficia foarte mult de adoptanți cu experiență în privința câinilor români. Olive preferă să fie singurul câine în noua ei casă. Deși poate socializa bine cu alți câini, poate apăra mâncarea de ceilalți câini și nu dorește să împartă spațiul pe termen lung. Nu poate trăi în aceeași casă cu pisici sau animale mici. Olive are dificultăți în medii aglomerate și trafic, așa că considerăm că ar fi mult mai fericită într-o zonă mai liniștită, unde poate merge la plimbări mai rurale. Ea poate latra la zgomote puternice și la străinii care vin în casă, așa că acești adoptanți vor trebui să fie dispuși să lucreze asupra acestui lucru cu ea. Adoptanții ei vor trebui să fie pacifici, calm și constanți, ajutând-o treptat să-și construiască încrederea și să se simtă sigură în noul ei mediu. Olive este antrenată pentru întreținere, dar poate avea nevoie de amintiri blânde în timp ce se adaptează la un nou program. Olive originally came to us from Romania as a puppy with her siblings and was quickly adopted. Sadly, she was recently returned as she was finding life in a busy city and busy household too overwhelming. She will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home where she can settle at her own pace. We feel she would really benefit from adopters with experience of Romanian dogs. Since being back with us, Olive has shown us just how sociable she is with other dogs and now happily shares her kennel with a lovely male dog called Cooper. The two get along brilliantly and spend much of their time together, often alongside Olive's best friend, Buck. We now feel Olive would happily live with another friendly male dog, although she can also be homed as the only dog. She does occasionally show some guarding behaviours around food with other dogs, but this is easily managed by feeding separately or giving her plenty of space at mealtimes. She cannot share her home with cats or small furries. Olive can struggle with busy environments and traffic, so we feel she would be much happier in a quieter area where she can enjoy more rural walks. She can also bark at loud noises and strangers visiting the home, so this is something her adopters will need to be willing to work on with her. Her adopters will need to be patient, calm and consistent, helping her gradually build confidence and feel secure in her new environment. Olive is house trained but may need gentle reminders as she adjusts to a new routine. She walks nicely on the lead and would love an active home where she can enjoy plenty of walks and adventures. She is a clever girl who already knows basic commands such as "sit" and "paw". Olive is a very sweet girl who enjoys being close to her people, happily sitting beside you, though she isn't overly fond of cuddles. When Olive first arrived back with us, she was quite nervous and wouldn't approach us, but she has grown enormously in confidence during her time here. She now eagerly greets her kennel mummy every morning and has become an absolute joy to care for. She loves going out for walks with our volunteers, which has really helped her confidence continue to blossom, and she absolutely adores chasing balls around our big play yard. She is often at the centre of our larger play groups, encouraging all of the other dogs to run around and play with her. Watching Olive run freely and enjoy herself is truly heartwarming. After spending the last seven weeks getting to know Olive, we can honestly say she has been an absolute angel. She has settled beautifully into kennel life, but it breaks our hearts knowing she has experienced the comforts of a home and is now waiting for another family to find her. She deserves so much more than kennel life and has so much love to give. With time, love and TLC, we know Olive will blossom into the most wonderful companion. She really will make one very lucky family complete, so please don't leave this special girl waiting any longer. Olive has tested negative for Brucella Canis. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
