16-04-26 Olive kwam oorspronkelijk bij ons uit Roemenië als een pupje met haar broers en zusters en werd snel geadopteerd. Helaas is ze onlangs teruggekeerd omdat ze het leven in een drukke stad en een drukke huisomgeving te overweldigend vond. Ze zoekt een rustige en stilte, alleen voor volwassenen, waar ze zich op eigen tempo kan settelen. Wij denken dat zij echt baat zou hebben bij adoptanten met ervaring met Roemeense honden. Olive wil graag de enige hond in haar nieuwe huis zijn. Hoewel ze goed kan sociaal omgaan met andere honden, kan ze haar eten bewaken tegen andere honden en wil ze niet langdurig haar ruimte delen. Ze kan niet samenwonen met katten of kleine vellertjes. Olive heeft moeite met drukke omgevingen en verkeer, dus wij denken dat ze gelukkiger zal zijn in een rustiger gebied, waar ze meer landelijke wandelingen kan maken. Ze kan ook blaffen op luide geluiden en bezoekers die het huis binnenkomen, dus dit is iets waar haar adoptanten bereid moeten zijn aan te werken. Haar adoptanten moeten geduldig, rustig en consequent zijn, om haar stap voor stap helpen om zelfvertrouwen op te bouwen en zich veilig te voelen in haar nieuwe omgeving. Olive is gehuisaangeleerd, maar kan eventueel zachte herinneringen nodig hebben terwijl ze zich aanpast aan een nieuw ritme. Ze loopt goed aan de leiband en zou graag een actieve omgeving willen waarin ze veel wandelingen en avonturen kan genieten. Olive is een slimme meid die al basiscommando's kent zoals "zit" en "poot". Ze is een heel aardige meid die dicht bij haar mensen wil zijn, blijft graag naast je zitten, hoewel ze niet erg dol is op knuffels. Met tijd, liefde en zorg denken wij dat ze zal opbloeien tot een geweldige partner, dus laat haar alsjeblieft niet te lang wachten. Olive is negatief getest op Brucella Canis.

Olive originally came to us from Romania as a puppy with her siblings and was quickly adopted. Sadly, she was recently returned as she was finding life in a busy city and busy household too overwhelming. She will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home where she can settle at her own pace. We feel she would really benefit from adopters with experience of Romanian dogs. Since being back with us, Olive has shown us just how sociable she is with other dogs and now happily shares her kennel with a lovely male dog called Cooper. The two get along brilliantly and spend much of their time together, often alongside Olive's best friend, Buck. We now feel Olive would happily live with another friendly male dog, although she can also be homed as the only dog. She does occasionally show some guarding behaviours around food with other dogs, but this is easily managed by feeding separately or giving her plenty of space at mealtimes. She cannot share her home with cats or small furries. Olive can struggle with busy environments and traffic, so we feel she would be much happier in a quieter area where she can enjoy more rural walks. She can also bark at loud noises and strangers visiting the home, so this is something her adopters will need to be willing to work on with her. Her adopters will need to be patient, calm and consistent, helping her gradually build confidence and feel secure in her new environment. Olive is house trained but may need gentle reminders as she adjusts to a new routine. She walks nicely on the lead and would love an active home where she can enjoy plenty of walks and adventures. She is a clever girl who already knows basic commands such as "sit" and "paw". Olive is a very sweet girl who enjoys being close to her people, happily sitting beside you, though she isn't overly fond of cuddles. When Olive first arrived back with us, she was quite nervous and wouldn't approach us, but she has grown enormously in confidence during her time here. She now eagerly greets her kennel mummy every morning and has become an absolute joy to care for. She loves going out for walks with our volunteers, which has really helped her confidence continue to blossom, and she absolutely adores chasing balls around our big play yard. She is often at the centre of our larger play groups, encouraging all of the other dogs to run around and play with her. Watching Olive run freely and enjoy herself is truly heartwarming. After spending the last seven weeks getting to know Olive, we can honestly say she has been an absolute angel. She has settled beautifully into kennel life, but it breaks our hearts knowing she has experienced the comforts of a home and is now waiting for another family to find her. She deserves so much more than kennel life and has so much love to give. With time, love and TLC, we know Olive will blossom into the most wonderful companion. She really will make one very lucky family complete, so please don't leave this special girl waiting any longer. Olive has tested negative for Brucella Canis. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
