16-04-26 Olive kom ursprungligen till oss från Rumänien som valp tillsammans med sina syskon och blev snabbt adopterad. Tyvärr har hon nyligen blivit återlämnad eftersom hon hittade livet i en stor stad och ett aktivt hem för överväldigande. Hon söker efter ett lugnt, stilla hem med vuxna endast där hon kan anpassa sig vid sitt eget tempo. Vi tror att hon skulle tjäna på att adoptanter har erfarenhet av rumänska hundar. Olive vill helst vara den enda hunden i sitt nya hem. Även om hon kan socialisera väl med andra hundar, kan hon skydda sin mat från andra hundar och föredrar inte att dela sitt utrymme på lång sikt. Hon kan inte bo tillsammans med katter eller små pälsdjur. Olive kan ha svårt att hantera bullriga miljöer och trafik och därför tror vi att hon skulle vara mycket lyckligare i en lugnare omgivning där hon kan göra mer lantliga promenader. Hon kan också tjatiga vid höga ljud och främlingar som besöker hemmet, så detta är något som hennes adoptanter måste vara villiga att arbeta på med henne. Hennes adoptanter behöver vara tålmodiga, lugna och konsekvent, hjälpa henne att gradvis bygga upp självförtroende och känna sig trygg i sitt nya miljö. Olive är toalettrödd men kan behöva mjuka påminnelser när hon anpassar sig till en ny rutin. Hon går fint på leden och älskar ett aktivt hem där hon kan njuta av många promenader och äventyr. Olive är en smärre flicka som redan vet grundkommandon som "sitta" och "höjd". Hon är en väldigt vänlig flicka som gillar att vara nära sina människor, glädjande sittande bredvid dig, fastän hon inte är alltför förtjust i knuffar. Med tid, kärlek och omsorg tror vi att hon kommer att blomstra till en underbar kamrat, så var god inte låter henne vänta för länge. Olive har testats negativ för Brucella Canis.

Olive originally came to us from Romania as a puppy with her siblings and was quickly adopted. Sadly, she was recently returned as she was finding life in a busy city and busy household too overwhelming. She will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home where she can settle at her own pace. We feel she would really benefit from adopters with experience of Romanian dogs. Since being back with us, Olive has shown us just how sociable she is with other dogs and now happily shares her kennel with a lovely male dog called Cooper. The two get along brilliantly and spend much of their time together, often alongside Olive's best friend, Buck. We now feel Olive would happily live with another friendly male dog, although she can also be homed as the only dog. She does occasionally show some guarding behaviours around food with other dogs, but this is easily managed by feeding separately or giving her plenty of space at mealtimes. She cannot share her home with cats or small furries. Olive can struggle with busy environments and traffic, so we feel she would be much happier in a quieter area where she can enjoy more rural walks. She can also bark at loud noises and strangers visiting the home, so this is something her adopters will need to be willing to work on with her. Her adopters will need to be patient, calm and consistent, helping her gradually build confidence and feel secure in her new environment. Olive is house trained but may need gentle reminders as she adjusts to a new routine. She walks nicely on the lead and would love an active home where she can enjoy plenty of walks and adventures. She is a clever girl who already knows basic commands such as "sit" and "paw". Olive is a very sweet girl who enjoys being close to her people, happily sitting beside you, though she isn't overly fond of cuddles. When Olive first arrived back with us, she was quite nervous and wouldn't approach us, but she has grown enormously in confidence during her time here. She now eagerly greets her kennel mummy every morning and has become an absolute joy to care for. She loves going out for walks with our volunteers, which has really helped her confidence continue to blossom, and she absolutely adores chasing balls around our big play yard. She is often at the centre of our larger play groups, encouraging all of the other dogs to run around and play with her. Watching Olive run freely and enjoy herself is truly heartwarming. After spending the last seven weeks getting to know Olive, we can honestly say she has been an absolute angel. She has settled beautifully into kennel life, but it breaks our hearts knowing she has experienced the comforts of a home and is now waiting for another family to find her. She deserves so much more than kennel life and has so much love to give. With time, love and TLC, we know Olive will blossom into the most wonderful companion. She really will make one very lucky family complete, so please don't leave this special girl waiting any longer. Olive has tested negative for Brucella Canis. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
