Teddy este un câine de mărime medie la mare, încrucișat, cu vârsta de trei până la patru ani. Teddy a ajuns în întreținerea noastră recent din Bosnia, unde a trăit într-un adăpost de când era puppy. El este primul dintre trei frați care vin la noi, ceilalți vor veni când adoptarea lui va crea un loc în gospodărie. Teddy este un băiat foarte dignificat, care iubește viața din Marea Britanie. Plimbările sunt o adevărată iluminare pentru el și poți vedea uimirea și bucuria de pe fața lui atunci când poate vedea viața din afara unui adăpost. Este puțin timid cu oamenii noi, dar iubește atenția după ce cunoaște o persoană bine. Ar dori compania unui alt câine în casa lui definitivă, dar ar putea fi ok ca singur câine dacă i se permite un timp suplimentar pentru a se adapta. Teddy este calm și satisfăcut acasă și ar putea trăi cu copii respectuoși de vârsta de cel puțin zece ani. Aceasta va păstra câinele vostru în siguranță: noul vostru câine va fi nervos și nu va avea încredere în voi, iar voi nu veți ști ce situații ar putea deranja câinele. Dacă câinele vostru se paniquează, atunci o curea de alunecare este singura modalitate de a evita ca acesta să fugă (multe câini pot scăpa dintr-un halat și/sau harnic). Va dura CEL PUȚIN 3-6 luni pentru ca câinele să se adapteze și pentru ca voi să-l cunoașteți complet (mai mult pentru câinii nervoși). Curea de alunecare trebuie folosită întotdeauna în perioada de adaptare. Chiar și după ce câinele vostru s-a adaptat, este mai sigur să folosiți curea de alunecare în situații în care câinele ar putea deveni speriat (de ex. vizite la locuri noi, în preajma oamenilor necunoscuți, la medic), precum și în situații în care ar putea apărea declanșatori neașteptați (de ex. aproape de noaptea focurilor de artificii). Câinii nervoși pot purta mereu o curea de alunecare drept măsură de siguranță suplimentară. Curea de alunecare este un dispozitiv de siguranță și nu trebuie niciodată folosit ca instrument de antrenament. Folosirea curelei pentru a aplica presiune asupra gâtului câinelui este dăunătoare. Dacă câinele vostru trage în curea, atunci vom putea să vă oferim metode de antrenament care evită daunele. Odată ce câinele vostru s-a adaptat, ați putea considera folosirea unui harnic (împreună cu curea de alunecare) dacă câinele este confortabil la manevrarea harnicului. Majoritatea harnicilor nu sunt anti-escape, dar harnicele cu o bandă spate (ex. Ruffwear Webmaster sau Perfect Fit Harnesses) sunt mai sigure. Teddy is a medium to large crossbreed aged around four to five years old. Passed confident cat testing. Needs a confident resident dog. Adult home needed Teddy came into our care from Bosnia in February 2025 where he’d previously resided in a shelter since he was a puppy. He was the first of three siblings to travel to us, the others were supposed to travel to us when his adoption created a space in foster but sadly he’s never had a single application to date as I type this. Teddy is a bit of an anxious Angus sadly and will need a very quiet and settled home. If he was a human he’d be being tested for autism or similar because anything out of his routine sends him into a state of confusion. He is not in an ideal setting at the moment because his multi dog foster home leaves little scope for regimental routine, in fact no two days are remotely the same! He loves the people he knows and he is happy to see them but strangers are a bit worrying for him. He loves his walks and time running free in the enclosed free but can panic if anyone is walking behind him so city life and built up areas are not going to work for him. When things are calm and settled he is a sweet and loving boy but when there is activity that’s out of the norm he will whine, pace and panic. That’s not any kind of inconvenience or problem to us but it’s not nice for him to feel that anxiety on a regular basis we’d live to see him somewhere he can feel relaxed the majority of the time. Teddy is a playful boy and will need a confident canine buddy living with him on a permanent basis. That buddy can be any age or personality but he couldn’t live with another “worrier” because that would just feed his anxiety and it help either dog. Teddy is interested in the safe rescue cat and likes to lick him, if he were to live with a cat it would also need to be confident and up for being washed by a giant eejit. He would need an adult family home, not because he is a danger to any children but just for the more settled home life without too much coming and going. Adoption Donation Fees From 1st Dec 2025 are Puppies already neutered and all adult dogs: £430. Un-neutered puppies on spay/neuter contracts: £530 (You will receive a £100 rebate once you send us proof of neutering). Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
