Six months ago, Tomka was found tied up near a store. She waited— in vain. She sat quietly, staring at the door, as if still believing someone would come out. Today she lives again. She runs on the grass, snorts at the wind, catches insects, and comically shakes her head. Her eyes are now calm. They hold not despair, but slyness. She is still learning to trust, so she will feel better in a quiet home, perhaps without other dogs, next to those who understand: love is not training. She is waiting for a home where there will be no shouting, where one can simply live— in the grass, in the sun, in peace.

Пів року тому Томку знайшли прив’язаною біля магазину. Вона чекала — даремно. Тихо сиділа, дивилася на двері, ніби досі вірила, що хтось вийде. Сьогодні вона знову живе. Бігає по траві, фиркає від вітру, ловить комах і смішно хитає головою. Її очі вже спокійні. В них — не відчай, а лукавість. Вона все ще вчиться довіряти, тому краще почуватиметься у спокійному домі, можливо, без інших собак, поруч із тими, хто розуміє: любов — це не дресура. Вона чекає на дім, де поруч не буде крику, де можна просто жити — у траві, у сонці, у мирі.
