Ares är en mycket speciell och känslig hund, full av kärlek att ge till de som förtjänar hans förtroende 🩵. Han föddes i mars 2023, är en pitbull med vikt under 25 kilo och har en unik egenskap: prognathism, vilket betyder att hans undre käke sticker ut mer än den övre käken. – Han kom till skyddshuset eftersom ägaren inte längre kunde ta hand om honom och hade visat något hårt beteende mot sin familj. Från det vi vet fick Ares ingen rättvis träning eller socialisering med människor eller andra hundar. Han tillbrakte mest av sin tid på en terrass med lite uppmärksamhet, vilket ledde till beteendevanor som ingen visste hur man skulle hantera. – Hans första dagar på skyddshuset var mycket svåra – han var osäker och ville hålla avstånd från oss. Gradvis och med mycket tålamod och förståelse började han förtro att sina vårdare. När han förstod att vi tog hand om honom och visade honom kärlek förändrades hans inställning helt, och vi upptäckte en uppmärksammad och mycket kärleksfull Ares. I början hade han svårt att gå på lemmar, men nu går han bra utan att dra. – Han har en personlighet som värd att upptäcka; han behöver bara tid, utrymme, förståelse och för dig att visa att du är hans vän och inte någon han behöver misstra. I lekplatsen, när han är ofäst, håller han sig nära och svarar när han kallas. – Vi arbetar fortfarande med att förbättra hans osäkerhet kring främmande, eftersom han kan springa fram om han känner att han hotas, särskilt under promenader. Han har också svårt att relatera till andra hundar från början. Skyddshuset – med all stress det medför, den begränsade tiden vi kan ägna åt honom och bristen på en dedikerad tränare – är inte det idealiska stället för att fullt ut utveckla hans utbildning, trots att vi gör allt vi kan. – Ares behöver en erfaren och engagerad familj som fortsätter hans träning med hjälp av en hundtränare och arbetar med hans socialisering för att undvika problem i framtiden. Idealiskt sett borde han gå till ett hem som inte ligger rakt i centrum och har tillgång till naturen, där han kan känna sig lugn. För närvarande tror vi att det är bäst att han är den enda hunden i hemmet, men det kan övervägas att han bor med en annan hund om den hunden är sociabel och väluppförd, med korrekta introduktioner för att hjälpa Ares att anpassa sig. – Om du vill lära känna honom gradvis, kom till skyddshuset och tillbringa tid med honom. Du kanske upptäcker att du kan bli livsmedborgare och ge Ares familj och kärlek som han så djupt förtjänar… och att han, med sitt stora hjärta, är villig att ge tillbaka. – **En PPP-licens krävs, och efterkontroller kommer att utföras efter adoptionen för att säkerställa att Ares lever lyckligt. Ares is a very special and sensitive dog, full of affection to give to those who earn his trust 🩵. He was born in March 2023, is a pitbull weighing under 25 kilos, and has a unique feature: prognathism, which means his lower jaw sticks out further than his upper jaw.-- He came to the shelter because his owner could no longer take care of him and had shown some harsh behavior toward her family. From what we know, Ares didn’t receive proper training or socialization with people or other dogs. He spent most of his time on a terrace with little attention, which led to behavioral issues that no one knew how to handle.-- His first days at the shelter were very difficult—he was insecure and wanted to keep his distance from us. Little by little, and with a lot of patience and understanding, he began to trust his caregivers. When he realized that we were taking care of him and showing him love, his attitude completely changed, and we discovered an attentive and very affectionate Ares. At first, he struggled to walk on a leash, but now he walks well and without pulling.-- He has a personality that’s worth discovering; he just needs time, space, understanding, and for you to show him that you are his friend and not someone he needs to distrust. In the play yard, when he’s off-leash, he stays close and responds when called.-- We are still working to improve his insecurity around strangers, as he might lunge if he feels threatened, especially during walks. He also finds it difficult to relate to other dogs at first. The shelter—with all the stress it brings, the limited time we can dedicate to him, and the lack of a dedicated trainer—is not the ideal place to fully advance his education, though we are doing everything we can.-- Ares needs an experienced and committed family who will continue his training with the help of a dog trainer and work on his socialization to avoid problems in the future. Ideally, he should go to a home that is not right in the city center and has access to nature, where he can feel calm. For now, we believe it’s best if he is the only dog in the home, though it could be considered for him to live with another dog if that dog is sociable and well-behaved, with proper introductions to help Ares adjust.-- If you want to get to know him gradually, come to the shelter and spend time with him. You might discover that you could be life companions and give Ares the family and love he so deeply deserves… and that he, with his big heart, is eager to give back.-- **A PPP license is required, and follow-up visits will be carried out after adoption to ensure that Ares is living happily.
