Ares è un cane molto speciale e sensibile, pieno di affetto da dare a chi merita la sua fiducia 🩵. È nato nel marzo 2023, è un pitbull che pesa meno di 25 chilogrammi e ha una caratteristica unica: l' prognatismo, che significa che il suo mascellare inferiore sporge più di quello superiore. È arrivato al rifugio perché il suo proprietario non poteva più prendersi cura di lui e aveva mostrato alcuni comportamenti duri verso la sua famiglia. Dalle informazioni che abbiamo, Ares non ha ricevuto un adeguato addestramento o socializzazione con persone o altri cani. Ha trascorso la maggior parte del tempo su un terrazzo senza molta attenzione, il che ha portato a problemi comportamentali che nessuno sapeva gestire. I primi giorni nel rifugio sono stati molto difficili - era insicuro e voleva mantenere le distanze da noi. Poco per volta, e con tanta pazienza e comprensione, ha iniziato a fidarsi dei suoi assistenti. Quando ha capito che eravamo noi a prenderci cura di lui e a mostrarli amore, il suo atteggiamento è completamente cambiato, e abbiamo scoperto un Ares attento e molto affettuoso. All'inizio aveva difficoltà a camminare con il guinzaglio, ma ora cammina bene e senza tirare. Ha una personalità che vale la pena scoprire; ha solo bisogno di tempo, spazio, comprensione e che tu gli mostri che sei suo amico e non qualcuno che deve diffidare. Nella zona di gioco, quando è senza guinzaglio, si tiene vicino e risponde quando lo chiami. Stiamo ancora lavorando per migliorare la sua insicurezza verso gli sconosciuti, poiché potrebbe scattare se si sente minacciato, soprattutto durante le passeggiate. Ha anche difficoltà a relazionarsi con altri cani all'inizio. Il rifugio - con tutto lo stress che porta, il tempo limitato che possiamo dedicargli e la mancanza di un addestratore specializzato - non è il posto ideale per avanzare completamente la sua istruzione, anche se stiamo facendo tutto il possibile. Ares ha bisogno di una famiglia esperta e impegnata che continui il suo addestramento con l'aiuto di un addestratore canino e lavori sulla sua socializzazione per evitare problemi in futuro. Idealmente, dovrebbe andare in una casa che non è proprio nel centro della città e ha accesso alla natura, dove può sentirsi calmo. Per ora, crediamo che sia meglio che sia l'unico cane in casa, anche se potrebbe essere considerato per vivere con un altro cane se questo è socievole e ben comportato, con introduzioni appropriate per aiutare Ares ad abituarsi. Se vuoi conoscere gradualmente, vieni al rifugio e passa del tempo con lui. Ares is a very special and sensitive dog, full of affection to give to those who earn his trust 🩵. He was born in March 2023, is a pitbull weighing under 25 kilos, and has a unique feature: prognathism, which means his lower jaw sticks out further than his upper jaw.-- He came to the shelter because his owner could no longer take care of him and had shown some harsh behavior toward her family. From what we know, Ares didn’t receive proper training or socialization with people or other dogs. He spent most of his time on a terrace with little attention, which led to behavioral issues that no one knew how to handle.-- His first days at the shelter were very difficult—he was insecure and wanted to keep his distance from us. Little by little, and with a lot of patience and understanding, he began to trust his caregivers. When he realized that we were taking care of him and showing him love, his attitude completely changed, and we discovered an attentive and very affectionate Ares. At first, he struggled to walk on a leash, but now he walks well and without pulling.-- He has a personality that’s worth discovering; he just needs time, space, understanding, and for you to show him that you are his friend and not someone he needs to distrust. In the play yard, when he’s off-leash, he stays close and responds when called.-- We are still working to improve his insecurity around strangers, as he might lunge if he feels threatened, especially during walks. He also finds it difficult to relate to other dogs at first. The shelter—with all the stress it brings, the limited time we can dedicate to him, and the lack of a dedicated trainer—is not the ideal place to fully advance his education, though we are doing everything we can.-- Ares needs an experienced and committed family who will continue his training with the help of a dog trainer and work on his socialization to avoid problems in the future. Ideally, he should go to a home that is not right in the city center and has access to nature, where he can feel calm. For now, we believe it’s best if he is the only dog in the home, though it could be considered for him to live with another dog if that dog is sociable and well-behaved, with proper introductions to help Ares adjust.-- If you want to get to know him gradually, come to the shelter and spend time with him.
