Bruiser är en stor vänlig tidigare gatkatt som söker efter en erfaren och förstående hemma. Den här vackra katten har inte bott i ett hem under en tid och har missat sociala interaktioner med människor så när Bruiser först kom till vår vård var han förståeligt mycket nervös, ryckte undan från folk och sparkade när han blev rädd. Med den omsorgsfulla och tåliga vården från vårt Djurvårdsteam har Bruiser tagit stora framsteg och är nu en mycket kärleksfull soffkatt. Även om Bruiser nu älskar människor har han fortfarande sina gatkattinstinkter och kommer att sparka mot händer som han tror innehåller mat (vilket ofta är fallet!) och kommer också att bli försvarslös när han blir rädd av ljud, plötsliga rörelser och när folk närmar sig honom utan tillstånd. Vi tror att i ett förstående hem kommer dessa beteenden minska när han sätter sig in och börjar förlita sig på sin nya familj. Observera att Bruiser är på medicin kallad Gabapentin för att hjälpa honom att lugna sig medan han är i vår kattery-miljö. As his name suggests, Bruiser is a big friendly ex-street cat. A cat who has not always had it easy, he is looking for an experienced and understanding human to give him the home he deserves. Bruiser is an active, intelligent and sociable cat who loves the company of people. He’s a large boy and loves his food and enjoys working out puzzles to get treats. As you can imagine from his street life experiences Bruiser was very nervous when he first arrived at BARC, but with the gentle care and patience from our Animal Care team, Bruiser has come on leaps and bounds and is now a very loving lapcat. An experienced cat owner would be perfect for him as he can become a little defensive when frightened by loud noises, sudden movements and having people approach him without an invitation. In an understanding and caring home where his space is respected, these behaviours are likely to subside as he settles in and begins to trust his new family. Bruiser is always waiting for people to come and visit him and is much happier when there are people around so a home that can give him lots of attention would be great, and he will give back oodles of love in return. Please note that Bruiser is on medication called Gabapentin to help him settle while he is in our cattery environment. This is not a long-term need and his adopters will be provided with a weaning dose of this medication with clear instructions from our veterinary team.
