Bruiser è un grande gatto amichevole ex stradario che cerca una casa esperta e comprensiva. Questo bel gatto non ha vissuto in casa da molto tempo e ha perso l'interazione sociale con le persone, quindi quando Bruiser è entrato nel nostro recinto era abbastanza nervoso, sussultando e colpendo quando si spaventava. Con la cura dolce e paziente del nostro team di assistenza agli animali, Bruiser ha fatto grandi progressi ed è ora un gatto molto affettuoso. Anche se Bruiser adora ora le persone, ha ancora i suoi istinti da randagio e colpirà le mani che ritiene contengano cibo (spesso!) e diventerà difensivo quando spaventato da rumori forti, movimenti improvvisi e quando le persone si avvicinano senza essere invitate. Crediamo che in una casa comprensiva, questi comportamenti diminuiranno mentre si stabilizza e inizia a fidarsi della sua nuova famiglia. Si prega di notare che Bruiser è in terapia con un farmaco chiamato Gabapentin per aiutarlo a calmarsi mentre è nel nostro ambiente in recinto. I futuri adottatori riceveranno una dose ridotta di questo farmaco con istruzioni chiare dal nostro team veterinario. Bruiser is a big friendly ex-street cat looking for an experienced and understanding home. Bruiser is an active, intelligent and sociable cat who loves the company of people. He is a bold cat who loves his food and enjoys working out puzzles to get treats. Bruiser was very nervous when he first arrived, but with the gentle and patient care from our Animal Care team, Bruiser has come on leaps and bounds and is now a very loving lapcat. Even though Bruiser is now a lover of humans, he still has his stray instincts and occasionally swipes at hands (without claws) he thinks contain food. He can become a little defensive when frightened by loud noises, sudden movements and having people approach him without an invitation. We believe that in an understanding home, these behaviours will subside as he settles in and begins to trust his new family. Bruiser is always waiting for people to come and visit him and is much happier when there are people around. He can be a bit demanding for attention, but this is because he has so much love to give. Please note that Bruiser is on medication called Gabapentin to help him settle while he is in our cattery environment. This is not a long-term need and his adopters will be provided with a weaning dose of this medication with clear instructions from our veterinary team.
