Bruiser é um gato grande e amigável ex-rua em busca de um lar experiente e compreensivo. Este belo gato não viveu em casa há algum tempo e perdeu a interação social com humanos, então quando Bruiser chegou ao nosso cuidado inicialmente estava incrivelmente nervoso, recuando de pessoas e esbofeteando quando ficava assustado. Com o cuidado gentil e paciente da nossa equipe de Atendimento a Animais, Bruiser progrediu enormemente e agora é um gato muito carinhoso que adora ficar no colo. Mesmo que Bruiser agora seja um amante de humanos, ele ainda tem seus instintos de cão errante e esbofeteia mãos que ele acredita conterem comida (o que acontece com frequência!) e também fica defensivo quando assustado por barulhos altos, movimentos súbitos e quando as pessoas se aproximam sem uma permissão. Acreditamos que em um lar compreensivo, esses comportamentos diminuirão à medida que ele se acostumar e começar a confiar na sua nova família. Observe que Bruiser está em medicamento chamado Gabapentina para ajudá-lo a se acalmar enquanto está no nosso ambiente de gatos. Bruiser is a big friendly ex-street cat looking for an experienced and understanding home. Bruiser is an active, intelligent and sociable cat who loves the company of people. He is a bold cat who loves his food and enjoys working out puzzles to get treats. Bruiser was very nervous when he first arrived, but with the gentle and patient care from our Animal Care team, Bruiser has come on leaps and bounds and is now a very loving lapcat. Even though Bruiser is now a lover of humans, he still has his stray instincts and occasionally swipes at hands (without claws) he thinks contain food. He can become a little defensive when frightened by loud noises, sudden movements and having people approach him without an invitation. We believe that in an understanding home, these behaviours will subside as he settles in and begins to trust his new family. Bruiser is always waiting for people to come and visit him and is much happier when there are people around. He can be a bit demanding for attention, but this is because he has so much love to give. Please note that Bruiser is on medication called Gabapentin to help him settle while he is in our cattery environment. This is not a long-term need and his adopters will be provided with a weaning dose of this medication with clear instructions from our veterinary team.
