08-05-26 Gary is a very sweet and sensitive boy who has come to us from a breeder. He currently finds human interaction quite overwhelming and can be touch-sensitive, so he needs time and patience to build trust. He is very much on the worried side and can react by snapping if he becomes frightened when being picked up, so it’s important that his adopters take a gentle, hands-off approach and allow him to come to them in his own time. Although he is still nervous, Gary is beginning to take treats from people he knows well and has spent time with, which is a lovely sign of progress and shows his potential to build trusting relationships. Gary takes great comfort from his kennel friends and has always lived alongside other dogs, so he will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in his new home to help guide him, reassure him, and show him the ropes as he settles in. As Gary has never lived in a home before, his adopters will need to be understanding while he learns about house training and walking on a lead. He is not yet used to lead walking, so a secure garden will be essential, giving him a safe space to explore and build confidence at his own pace. Due to his sensitive nature, Gary is looking for a calm adult-only home with ex-breeding experience, where he can settle in at his own pace without pressure. He will need plenty of time, love, and reassurance, but with patience and consistency, he will continue to make progress and grow in confidence. Gary has come to us missing his left eye, but this doesn’t slow him down at all, if anything, it adds to his unique and endearing charm. Gary is a little superstar who is trying his best in a world he finds quite overwhelming. With the right support, he will continue to blossom and form a deep, loyal bond with his future family. At the time of castration, he has had 1 tooth removed. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
