1 Year Old Boy Looking For A Very Special Home

This beautiful boy is just 1 year old and through no fault of his own, is looking for a very special forever home. This lad is everything you would expect from a young Labrador – loving, loyal, goofy, mischievous, boisterous and full of heart. He adores people, loves a gentle game and loves the company of his humans. At just 12 months he has been diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia. What does that mean for him? It means his elbow joints didn’t develop quite as they should. He can be stiff and lame, especially after exercise or rest and he will need on-going management for life. This will likely include joint supplements, pain relief as advised by a vet, weight management, controlled gentle exercise rather than long runs and possibly surgery in the future. He will struggle with lots of stairs and will need a supportive bed. This does NOT mean that he can’t have a wonderful, happy life. With the right care, many dogs with this condition live a long and happy life. The Charity are happy to support the cost of his medication and may also support the cost of surgery if he proves to be a good candidate for it. He is still just a baby who deserves a chance. He is not neutered and we would not advise doing this until he was fully grown at around 18 months. He is good with other dogs but not cats. We would prefer that he was an only dog as he needs to be kept as calm as possible with his condition. He could live with older children who would not over-excite him. He is not broken,
