Ábránd

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

A dog that was shot in multiple places came into the care of Noé Animal Shelter Foundation! She was named Ábránd here. This beautiful girl had been injured and lying between Tiszanána and Sarud for days. With the help of the Füzesabonyi Animal Welfare Foundation, she arrived at our shelter. At first, only a large hole on her shoulder and a swollen nose were visible. She was in great pain and pus was oozing from all her wounds, so we rushed her to the Délpesti Veterinary and Surgical Center. Based on the examination of the wounds and the X-rays, Ábránd had been shot in multiple places. Her shoulder and one side of her jaw were shattered. The injuries were not fresh and unfortunately had become infected; the poor dog was literally falling apart due to the damage caused by the gunshot. The smell, the sight, and the damage were horrifying. We cleaned and opened the wounds. She received a tetanus serum, a culture was taken from the infected wound exudate, a full lab test was performed, and she was given a huge dose of painkillers to ease her suffering. Unfortunately, the heartworm test done upon admission was positive, and we have started the treatment. Fortunately, Ábránd has fully recovered from her injuries and has become a happy dog. Very smart and eager to learn. She can be socialized with other dogs. We are looking for a loving owner for Ábránd, someone who can help her forget all the bad things she experienced in her life and show her that life is beautiful and that she is also a beloved companion to humans. We only look for a home where she can be a full family member. We do not give her for garden keeping. Continuing the heartworm treatment and the required check-ups will be the responsibility of the future owner. Ábránd is vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to move into a new, permanent family after being spayed.

Több helyen meglőtt kutya került a Noé Állatotthon Alapítvány gondozásába! A szag, a látvány, a károsodás iszonyú.Feltártál és kitisztították a sebeit. Kapott tetanusz szérumot, az elfertőződött sebek váladékából tenyésztést végeznek, teljes laborvizsgálat és persze óriási adag fájdalomcsillapítóval enyhítették a kínjait. Sajnos a bekerüléskor elvégzett szívféregtesztje pozitív lett, kezelését megkezdtük.Ábránd szerencsére teljesen kigyógyult sérüléseiből, vidám kutyus lett belőle. About Ábránd

What life with Ábránd looks like

Ábránd is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires ongoing heartworm treatment and follow-up veterinary care. History of severe trauma requiring experienced, patient owner.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ábránd, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ábránd?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ábránd on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ábránd if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ábránd already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ábránd isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ábránd and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
