Abricot

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Abricot Sex: male Date of birth: 29/11/2025 In foster care in Orcet Veterinary clinic: identified, vaccinated and neutered, tested negative for FIV and FeLV OK with cats, dogs, older children, or very gentle animals. Abricot is a shy cat. Abricot belongs to those cats caught between two worlds: no longer really a kitten, but not yet an adult, he doesn't catch the eye even though he has so much to give! He is a sweet, shy cat, but so affectionate and purry once his apprehension has passed. Because of his young age, he is very playful. He lives with cats he gets along with well. He has had the opportunity to meet a dog, and for the first time there was no hostility from him, only curiosity! He lives perfectly indoors; an apartment with or without outdoor access will suit him perfectly. Would you like to offer our adorable Abricot a beautiful and long life by your side? Adoption in the 63 (or a neighboring department) under an adoption contract and in exchange for reimbursement of veterinary costs (identification, FIV/FeLV test, neutering, vaccination and deworming). Please contact us only by private message on Facebook.

About Abricot

What life with Abricot looks like

Abricot is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Volcanimo in France.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Abricot, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Abricot?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Volcanimo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Abricot on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Abricot if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Volcanimo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Abricot already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Abricot isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Volcanimo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Abricot and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
