Ace

Male · Puppy · 5 months

Meet our bouncy, ball loving boy Ace, who is ready to ace his next adventure in a loving forever home! This enthusiastic young pup is full of character, with a real zest for life and plenty of puppy energy to share with his new family. Ace loves being out and about, exploring the world around him and getting stuck into a good game of ball! He is also a big foodie, which will be a fantastic way for his new owners to build a bond with him and make learning new skills fun and rewarding. Ace can be excitable when meeting other dogs and would benefit from continued positive socialisation to help him develop his confidence and social skills. He could potentially live with a suitable neutered canine companion who can be a good role model and help show him the ropes! As a young bull breed, Ace is still learning his puppy manners and can be quite jumpy and mouthy when excited. He is therefore looking for a home with teenagers and above, with owners who are enthusiastic about continuing his training and helping him navigate the big wide world. Ace will need owners who can be around for most of the day initially to help him settle into home life and gradually build his independence. As he is still mastering his housetraining, a secure, private garden is essential, providing him with a space to practise his skills and enjoy plenty of his favourite toy games! If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Rex, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Ace

What life with Ace looks like

Ace is a medium-sized puppy dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Note from the shelter: Requires outside access in new home

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ace, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ace?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ace on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ace if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ace already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ace isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ace and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
