adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Ace has found a home! His story: Found at just five months old, Ace was completely emaciated, disoriented, and on his own between two villages. Once, he even ran right into the middle of a busy street – only the quick reaction of a driver prevented something from happening to him. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of an animal rescuer, the little guy was brought to safety – and he had a huge stroke of luck: He found a home within a short time. But the dream burst – the happiness was only temporary. Ace must leave his current residence quickly and is now desperately searching for a new chance to give his heart away forever. Mixed breed Ace is currently going through the lively phase of puberty. Here, it takes people with a cool head and clear commands, because testing and establishing boundaries can be a bit challenging but is completely normal during this phase. Once puberty is over, it will likely be a chuckle-worthy anecdote at the dinner table. When Ace grows up, he will likely reach a shoulder height of medium size. His beautiful black fur with a white chest spot makes him look like a sweet heartbreaker – but his friendly nature also wins him many admirers right away. What immediately stands out: Despite his difficult beginnings, Ace has not lost his trust in us two-legged beings. On the contrary – he is extremely friendly, clingy, open-hearted, and simply incredibly lovable. He has also gotten along well with the other dogs. He hasn't met any cats yet. Ace already runs quite well on a leash, listens attentively, is eager to learn, and wants to please. His love for treats will certainly help with future training. As a young and active male dog, Ace will love to experience exciting adventures with his favorite people, go on long walks with them, and frolic over meadows. Perhaps a visit to a positively working dog training class will also bring him joy, where he can try things out and maybe even find fun in dog sports. He will also enjoy the quiet moments full of cuddles. Who will give Ace a new chance? After a positive age-related spay/neuter, he is still not neutered. A foster home would also be fantastic, because the unlucky raven must move out as soon as possible. Many thanks, Rabea, for taking on his namesship. Status: 02.09. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 02.09.2025

About Ace

What life with Ace looks like

Ace is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ace, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ace?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ace on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ace if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ace already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ace isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ace and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
