Adam

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed Adam - ready to discover the world Adam is one of six siblings rescued by our Bulgarian animal welfare colleagues. However, his stay at the shelter is only a temporary stop. A puppy needs more - he needs people, closeness, security and the opportunity to learn about the world. Adam is a friendly, open-minded and lovable young dog. He goes through life with curiosity. He is also compatible with other dogs. Now he just needs a suitable home or a loving foster home to enable him to start his new life. Of course, Adam still has a lot to learn. Housebreaking, staying alone, leash training and the many new sounds and situations of everyday life are things that still need to become second nature to him. For this, he needs people who stand by his side patiently and understandingly. People who know that a puppy cannot do everything overnight and that small setbacks are a part of it. With loving consistency, positive reinforcement and enough time, Adam will grow into a great companion. Whoever decides for Adam takes responsibility for many years together - and gets the chance to accompany a wonderful dog on his life's journey from the very beginning. Adam is waiting to finally meet his people - as a home or as a loving foster home. Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to settle into their new life. If you are seriously interested in adopting Adam, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very happy to provide a foster home. Here's Adam's video

About Adam

What life with Adam looks like

Adam is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adam?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adam if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adam isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
