adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adam has found a home quickly! His story: Little Man, Big Heart. One could describe Adam as such. At just 10 cm and 2 kg, he must have been quite the little fighter in his life. He was rescued outside Cluj along with two other female dogs. Now he lives in a Romanian foster home. Adam is not only a handsome little fellow with his cocked ears, his black shiny fur, and his white chin and patch, but he also has great inner qualities. Adam is a sweet and cheerful little pup, playful and always in a good mood. But he also has a thick skin. He gets along well with his fellow animals and can hold his own against adult dogs. Whether he gets along with cats, we're not sure, but given his confident behavior, there's definitely potential for conflict 😉. From the looks of it, Adam could be a Terrier mix. He will also stay small when fully grown. Adam is searching for people who don't have high expectations of him, because he's still a baby and has a lot to learn. Even though he's already familiar with life in a house, he's probably not house-trained yet. And he still has to learn the complete dog ABC. He would definitely be happy with a visit to a puppy school. Also, he needs to be trained to be alone, which, for puppies in their first year, should be done with as little alone time as possible. And when you think he can do everything, little Adam will enter puberty. The time when the cute little ones forget everything they've learned and start questioning everything. A lot of love, patience, and consistency are needed to get through this phase together. And just with Adam, who seems to feel like a giant, one must not be fooled by his charm, or he might one day dance on your nose. But once this phase is over, Adam will surely develop into a great companion who sticks with you through thick and thin. Adam travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. After a positive But he would also be happy with a foster home. Thanks, Martin R.! You gave Adam his name and thus paved the way to a happy dog life. As of 11.03.

So könnte man Adam beschreiben. Stand: 11.03.2025

About Adam

What life with Adam looks like

Adam is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adam?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adam if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adam isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
