Adan

Podenco · Male · Puppy

Adán spent weeks roaming all over Roquetas. We received numerous reports about him, but no one managed to catch him. Thanks to the help of some ladies who blocked off the possible escape routes, and with a great deal of patience, we managed to rescue him. He arrived very distrustful and fearful, the same mechanism that kept him alive on the street: fleeing from humans. He has needed months of patience, affection and effort, but he trusts people more and more each day. When volunteers arrive, he comes over to say hello, wagging his little tail, before going off to play with his friends. 07 January 2026: Time passes and Moscú is still at the shelter... About Adan

What life with Adan looks like

Adan is a medium-sized puppy podenco dog waiting at La Huella Roja Almería in Spain.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adan?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. La Huella Roja Almería handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adan if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — La Huella Roja Almería will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Adan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adan isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with La Huella Roja Almería early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
