Adopt Neon

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Neon is a happy, affectionate Pointer with an infectious enthusiasm for life. She loves people, enjoys plenty of fuss, and is always ready for her next adventure. Her excitement can sometimes get the better of her, and she can be bouncy when greeting people, but she is eager to learn and responds brilliantly to reward-based training. Neon has led a very sheltered life and has had little experience of the outside world. While she approaches new places and experiences with excitement and curiosity, everything can feel a little overwhelming at times. She is looking for patient adopters who understand that she is still discovering the world and has likely never known the stability of a loving home. With time, reassurance and consistent guidance, Neon has all the potential to grow into a confident companion. Neon is looking for an active home where she can enjoy woodland walks, beach adventures and plenty of opportunities to follow her nose. She can be strong on the lead and can become frustrated when she can't investigate exciting sights and smells, so she will benefit from patient handling, a secure garden, regular access to safe off-lead spaces, and adopters committed to continuing her training. Neon could potentially live with another playful, confident dog following successful introductions, or she would be equally happy as the only dog in the home. Due to her enthusiastic nature, she would be best suited to a home with children aged 14 years and over. For the right family, Neon will be a fun, affectionate and adventurous companion who is ready to embrace everything life has to offer. About Adopt Neon

What life with Adopt Neon looks like

Adopt Neon is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Neon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Neon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Neon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Neon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopt Neon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Neon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Neon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
