Adopta a Fuego

Female

Fire arrived at ANAC with her sister Ash in conditions that should not exist. The two survived in a dirty cage, without having received even the minimum care during their years of life, as a result of Noah's syndrome. She is about five years old, and since she arrived, she has been to the vet to check everything that had never been checked before. The uterus is no longer there - we had to remove it because there were suspicious masses - and that is already less compared to all that comes next. What the rabbit Fire needs now is time: time to learn that a hand approaching does not come to hurt her, time to understand what the corner is (she has lived in a cage all her life and does not know it) and time to lose weight and feel better. And a family that understands all this and does not live it as a problem, but as part of the journey. She is spayed and available for adoption, but we want to be very clear: Fire is a long-term love project, a rabbit for those who understand that animals that have suffered abuse need someone to bet on them without conditions. Adopt Fire!

ES·Show original

¡Adopta a Fuego!

About Adopta a Fuego

What life with Adopta a Fuego looks like

Adopta a Fuego is a adult rabbit waiting at ANAC - Amigos de los Conejos in Spain.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopta a Fuego, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopta a Fuego?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ANAC - Amigos de los Conejos handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopta a Fuego on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopta a Fuego if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ANAC - Amigos de los Conejos will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopta a Fuego already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopta a Fuego isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ANAC - Amigos de los Conejos early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopta a Fuego and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
