Minka

Female Β· Senior Β· 10 years

Minka is a charming 10.5-year-old Maltese who may not be the youngest, but she's still full of life and love to give! She and her half-sister Panda lived happily together in a loving home until their owner had to move and there was no place for them. They ended up at the animal shelter. Over the years, they didn't get as much exercise, so their condition isn't what it used to be. But the kind people at the shelter have been working with her slowly, and now she can walk for 20 minutes without any issues. She really enjoys it! Sometimes on the street, she can be a bit bossy when she meets other dogs. Even small dogs have strong opinions! 🐢 With a gentle introduction, her caregivers expect she could live with another dog of her size. We'll see if there's a connection during a meeting. In our previous home, Panda and I had a cat flap, so we could go outside when we needed to. At the shelter, we had to get used to a different routine, but now we're pros! We keep our kennel clean and wait until morning to go outside. And guess what? Despite my age, I'm still a happy dog. I love attention, coziness, and a nice walk. Give me some love and I'm all set! The shelter people have also taken good care of my health. I had a thorough dental treatment, was spayed, and had lumps removed from my mammary glands. I've been pretty well taken care of, but I'm ready to find my new home! I'd love to go with my half-sister Panda. We've spent our whole lives together. Panda just needed a bit more time to recover from her mammary gland surgery. She still needs to have a dental treatment under anesthesia. So, she's not ready for adoption yet. But that doesn't mean you can't meet me! I dream of a cozy home where I can enjoy my golden years. A soft bed, lots of attention, nice walks at my own pace, and most of all, lots of love. My biggest wish? To make many happy memories with Panda in a new home. 🏑 Can you give us a second chance? Fill out the intake form below, and maybe we can start soon! Before bringing a dog home, we want to know what's involved. Read the LICG pet guide to learn more. If you have any questions, we'd be happy to answer them.

Hi daar!

About Minka

What life with Minka looks like

Minka is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at ROZE Eindhoven in Netherlands.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡³πŸ‡±Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ROZE Eindhoven handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” ROZE Eindhoven will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Minka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ROZE Eindhoven early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
