I am a 5-year-old German Shepherd. I was brought to the animal shelter by a kind woman who found me. Now I am waiting for a new home where I can be myself. I am a loving and affectionate dog who likes to be close to you. As a true German Shepherd, I am also quite vocal—I like to be heard! But this is only at the beginning of a walk. In addition, I love long walks and... water! Give me a puddle, pond, or more and I am immediately enthusiastic, because I am a real water rat. Other dogs are still a bit challenging for me. I can bark at them and have not yet really learned to make contact with them, so I need guidance. With the right owner who helps me with this, I can surely learn a lot. Because I can sometimes be a bit busy, I do not fit well into a family with young children. A calm, clear environment would be best for me. Are you someone who likes to be active, can give me structure, and wants to work together with me on building my confidence? Then I think we could make a great match. I can't wait to meet you! The reason I am only available from 26-06-2026 is because I was chosen to participate in Dutch Cell Dogs. Here, I get to enjoy treats and have to listen, which is well spent for me. Ik ben een Duitse herder van 5 jaar oud. Ik ben naar het dierenasiel gebracht door een lieve vrouw die mij gevonden heeft. Daar wacht ik nu op een nieuw thuis waar ik helemaal mezelf mag zijn. Ik ben een lieve en aanhankelijke hond die graag bij je in de buurt is. Zoals een echte Duitse herder ben ik ook best vocaal—ik laat graag van me horen! Maar dit is alleen als ik enthousiast ben bij het begin van de wandeling. Daarnaast hou ik enorm van lange wandelingen en… water! Geef mij een plas, sloot of meer en ik ben meteen enthousiast, want ik ben een echte waterrat. Andere honden vind ik nog een beetje spannend. Ik kan naar ze blaffen en heb nog niet echt goed contact met ze leren maken, dus daar heb ik begeleiding bij nodig. Met de juiste baas die mij hierin helpt, kan ik vast nog veel leren. Omdat ik soms wat druk kan zijn, pas ik niet zo goed in een gezin met jonge kinderen. Een rustige, duidelijke omgeving zou voor mij het fijnst zijn. Ben jij iemand die graag actief bezig is, mij structuur kan geven en samen met mij wil werken aan mijn zelfvertrouwen? Dan denk ik dat wij een hele mooie match kunnen zijn.
