Adoptuj si Huga

Male · Adult · 5 years

Hugo, a Caucasian Shepherd Dog, 5 years old, approximately 70kg, was admitted on June 25, 2026. Hugo is a giant who craves love, good food, and affection. He is a gentle soul who loves human company. Given his size and breed, we are looking for an experienced breeder and a physically fit person who understands shepherds and has a very well-secured property. Hugo is friendly with people but does not like big dogs and can run after them on a leash. Therefore, physical strength is really needed and do not overestimate your abilities. He does not know much and does not do anything, he lived with his brother on the property without much contact with the owners. But he loves walks and cannot resist a scratch. In case of interest in adoption, please fill out the pre-adoption questionnaire. We require at least two non-binding visits to our shelter and a pre-adoption check at your place before the adoption. Tuesday 2pm - 4pm Wednesday Thursday 8:30am - 10am Friday

About Adoptuj si Huga

What life with Adoptuj si Huga looks like

Adoptuj si Huga is a extra-large adult dog waiting at Voříškov in Czech Republic.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adoptuj si Huga, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adoptuj si Huga?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Voříškov handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adoptuj si Huga on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adoptuj si Huga if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Voříškov will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adoptuj si Huga already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adoptuj si Huga isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Voříškov early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adoptuj si Huga and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
