Adopt Africa

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Description Our animal welfare workers report: the sweet Africa and her siblings (Soria, Silvia, Olivia, Marcus, Tomillo, Trebol2, Atun, Ada, Pimienta) were discovered in a bush along with another litter of puppies and the two respective mothers by passersby; the whimpers of the puppies drew attention to the two small families. The two mother dogs shared the upbringing and took turns as surrogate females, caring for all the puppies equally. It is impossible for local animal welfare workers to determine which puppy belongs to which mother; however, since the mothers look different but the puppies resemble each other, it is possible they share a common father. 🧸 Africa is being raised in a caring foster home in Spain and is very people-oriented, affectionate, and playfully typical of a puppy. Compared within the large litter, Africa is somewhat more slender and a relaxed puppy. As an open-hearted, adorable female dog, it is now Africa's greatest wish to be discovered and to explore the world extensively with loving people by her side, experiencing what life feels like as a cherished fur baby in her own home. 🍀 Update 02.03.2026 new videos, new photo 26.10.2025 new photo, new video 17.09.2025 new video 28.05.2025 new video 10.04.2025 new photos and videos 20.03.2025 new photos, new video 09.03.2025 new photos, new video 16.02.2025 new photos 01.02.2025 new photos 15.01.2025 new photos 05.01.2025 new photos Please note:

About Africa

What life with Africa looks like

Africa is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Africa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Africa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Africa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Africa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Africa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Africa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Africa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
