Agrest

Male · Adult · 5 years

Currant is looking for a calm and patient home! Currant is about one year old, weighing around 9 kg, who was taken in an intervention with his siblings from a cluttered yard where he lived in difficult conditions. He is a sensitive and gentle dog who needs time to trust humans and feel safe. The shelter is a big challenge for him, so we are looking for a home that will give him peace, patience, and the opportunity to open up at his own pace. Currant cannot walk on a leash yet because it's a completely new experience for him. He is slowly learning walks, but he will need further work, consistency, and understanding. We are looking for an experienced caregiver and a quiet home without children who will provide him with a sense of security and help him find his way in the new reality. Introductory meetings are required so that Currant can gradually get to know his future caregiver and build a relationship with them. In the right hands, Currant has the chance to grow into a wonderful, devoted companion. PLEASE BRING A LEASH, COLLAR AND ANTI-ESCAPE HARNESS WITH YOU FOR ADOPTION The description is written based on observations of the dog in the shelter. Currant is under the care of OTOZ Animals Shelter in Tczew. Registration number at the shelter: 69/26 Male is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and neutered. Contact for adoption: +48 58 531 96 56

Agrest szuka spokojnego i cierpliwego domu! Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 58 531 96 56

About Agrest

What life with Agrest looks like

Agrest is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Agrest, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Agrest?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Agrest on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Agrest if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Agrest already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Agrest isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Agrest and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
