Aira

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 9 months

Aira is a sewn-on sister to Harry Potter… Well, we’re not entirely sure about that, but the characteristic "thunderbolt" gives us a hint. Harry Potter had it on his forehead, while Aira has it on her nose. Thanks to this, she always looks like she’s laughing and makes such a funny little frown. Unfortunately, Aira doesn’t have many reasons to be happy—first, her mother was pointlessly bred, then the "owner" abandoned the puppies at the animal shelter and simply drove away without looking back. The three sisters ended up with us. They were taken care of by the veterinarians, fed, and two of them have already found homes. She’s the only one left. From the adoptive families of Aida and Aisha, we know that the girls learn very quickly, they are sociable, wise, love children, and cause no problems. We, her volunteers, can confirm that. Aira loves being petted, being held, and being close. She’s a medium-sized dog (weighing around 17 kg), she’s 9 months old. She gets along with other dogs, she’s energetic but obedient, she walks nicely on a leash, and she’s not afraid of car rides. In short—she’s the perfect dog.

Aira to przyszywana siostra Harrego Pottera… My, jej wolontariusze, możemy to potwierdzić.

About Aira

What life with Aira looks like

Aira is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
