AJ and Sticklebricks

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Kitten · 2 months

AJ and Sticklebricks are looking for a home together as they are in such an amazing little duo! Aj is a kitten we have handreared over the summer, as with all handreared kittens he doesn’t really have any boundaries with humans and is quite partial to sitting on your shoulder (while Sticklebricks is in your lap) and having a little nibble on you. Sticklebricks is a sweet, placid boy who loves a snuggle and he is so chilled with AJ’s antics, they are the perfect influence on each other. Due to AJ being a *tiny* bit bitey we feel he would be better suited to home with older, sensible children who can help to teach him good habits. Both cats can be homed with existing dogs and cats with proper introductions.

About AJ and Sticklebricks

What life with AJ and Sticklebricks looks like

AJ and Sticklebricks is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Chard.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting AJ and Sticklebricks, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about AJ and Sticklebricks?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ferne Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw AJ and Sticklebricks on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt AJ and Sticklebricks if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ferne Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is AJ and Sticklebricks already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if AJ and Sticklebricks isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ferne Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know AJ and Sticklebricks and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
