Akita Inu Lilly Akita Inu Lilly, female/neutered, born on 04.04.2016, surrendered due to a change in living arrangements…Lilly is an Akita Inu and was sadly surrendered to us because she could no longer cope with the situation after a change in living arrangements and loudly complained. Lilly is typically loyal and attentive to her Akita nature, but can also be stubborn. She lived in a yard or outdoor enclosure in her previous home and is therefore not familiar with indoor living. During long walks, she was always enthusiastic, loving to run through the woods, and has a very good basic obedience. Unfortunately, she was never properly taught to be alone, which she then loudly shared with her neighbors, which was the main reason for her surrender. Working on her ability to be alone must definitely be addressed in her new home. Currently, Lilly has significant main problems and is in treatment with us. We cannot yet say for certain what it is, but we do know that she recently had a condition called pyoderma and that there is likely still an allergy in the environment. She is regularly bathed. Lilly is conditionally compatible with other dogs. She shows a peaceful demeanor towards approaching dogs. With people, she is initially reserved and barks first, but this settles quite quickly. Otherwise, Lilly is a friendly, attentive female dog, still quite active at 8 years old, and demanding. For Lilly, we are looking for breed-experienced people who are aware that there is still work to be done with her. There should not be a second dog. An enclosed yard should be available, and plenty of time, because the active lady enjoys affection and attention. Update: Urgently seeking a foster homeFor our lovely Lilli, a disease called sebadinitis was diagnosed some time ago, which, although not very common, is apparently quite "typical" for Akita dogs. With this disease, the sebaceous glands of the skin are irreversibly damaged, meaning the skin dries out and the dog suffers from intense itching. Additionally, affected dogs often have food intolerances and various other allergies. We are doing our best to treat Lilly, but we also knew very little about this disease at first and have since spoken with other animal shelters and private individuals who have experience with treating affected dogs. Currently, she is receiving high-quality wet food and various oils that support the regeneration of the skin barrier. Unfortunately, the disease is incurable, and we can only do our best to alleviate her symptoms. Lilly is currently being switched to the medication Atopica, as this could provide the greatest relief. However, the medication is very expensive, costing us around 200€ per month, so we are asking for your help to enable her to receive long-term treatment. The most beautiful would of course be a home, but we would also consider a foster home, as stress is also a significant factor, and it could improve significantly in a quieter environment. Akita Inu Lilly Akita Inu Lilly, weiblich/kastriert, am 04.04.2016 geboren, Abgabe wegen Wohnungswechsel…Lilly ist eine Akita Inu und wurde schweren Herzens bei uns abgegeben weil sie nach wohnwechsel mit der Situation nicht mehr klar kam und sich lautstark beschwerte.Lilly ist Akita typisch treu und aufmerksam, kann aber ebenso rassetypisch stur sein.Sie hat in ihrem früheren Zuhause in Zwingerhaltung/Außenhaltung gelebt und kennt somit das Leben im Haus nicht, bei langen Spaziergängen war sie dennoch immer zu begeistern, sie liebt es im Wald zu laufen und hat einen sehr guten Grundgehorsam.Leider wurde ihr nie richtig beigebracht alleine zu bleiben, dies teilt sie dann gerne auch sehr lautstark der Nachbarschaft mit, welcher auch der Hauptgrund zur Abgabe war.Am alleine bleiben muss im neuen Zuhause definitiv gearbeitet werden. Aktuell hat Lilly starke Hauptprobleme und ist bei uns in Behandlung.Derzeit können wir noch nicht genau sagen um was es sich handelt, wir wissen jedoch das sie vor nich allzu langer Zeit an Räude erkrankt war und vermutlich noch eine Allergie im Raum steht.Sie wird regelmäßig gebadet.Lilly ist bedingt mit anderen Hunden verträglich. Gegenüber vorbeilaufenden Hunden zeigt sie sich friedlich.Bei Menschen ist sie im ersten Moment zurückhaltend und bellt erstmal, jedoch legt sich das ziemlich schnell wieder.Sonst ist Lilly eine freundliche aufmerksame Hündin, welche mit ihren 8 Jahren noch ziemlich aktiv ist und fordert.Für Lilly suchen wir rasseerfahrene Menschen, die sich bewusst sind, dass noch Arbeit mit ihr bevorsteht. Ein zweiter Hund sollte nicht vorhanden sein.Es sollte ein eingezäunter Garten vorhanden sein und viel Zeit, denn die aktive Dame genießt Zuwendung und Aufmerksamkeit. Update: Dringend Pflegestelle gesuchtBei unserer hübschen Lilli wurde leider vor einiger Zeit eine Krankheit Namens Sebadinitis diagnostiziert, diese ist zwar nicht sehr verbreitet, jedoch nach etwas Recherche wohl sehr „typisch“ bei Akitas.Bei dieser Krankheit sind die Talgdrüsen der Haut irreversibel beschädigt, dass bedeutet, die Haut trocknet aus und der Hund leidet unter starkem Juckreiz.Außerdem haben die betroffenen Hunde oft zusätzlich Futterunverträglichkeiten und allerlei andere Allergien.Wir versuchen Lilly bestmöglich zu behandeln, aber auch wir wussten anfangs sehr wenig über diese Krankheit und haben uns aus diesem Grund mit anderen Tierheimen und Privatpersonen unterhalten, die mit der Behandlung betroffener Hunde schon Erfahrung gesammelt haben.Mittlerweile bekommt sie sehr hochwertiges Nassfutter und allerlei Öle die die Regeneration der Hautbarriere unterstützen.Leider ist die Krankheit unheilbar und wir können nur alles tun um Lillys Beschwerden bestmöglich zu lindern.Lilli wird aktuell auf das Medikament Atopica umgestellt, da dieses die größte Linderung erzielen könnte .Das Medikament ist jedoch sehr teuer und kostet uns ca. 200€ im Monat, darum möchten wir um eure Hilfe bitten damit wir Lilli die dauerhafte Behandlung ermöglichen können.Am allerschönsten wäre natürlich ein Zuhause, aber auch eine Pflegestelle würden wir durchaus in Betracht ziehen, da Stress ebenfalls ein großer Faktor ist und es in einer ruhigeren Umgebung deutlich besser werden könnte.
