Adopt Albert

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Albert is based in the UK and is just over 3 years old. He’s an absolutely gorgeous boy who loves the inside of his back leg tickled, eventually when he trusts you he likes his tummy rubbed too. His happiest snuggled with you under a cover or running in the dog park. He’s most confident with smaller dogs and seems to favour cockerpoos and cocker spaniels but has been super friendly with everything smaller than him. He’s under sure and needs reassurance with the bigger dogs but with time and patience he gets there. Albert is curious with what cats are doing but generally ignores them. Doesn’t mind a car ride and will happily lay in the foot wells or the boot. Albert likes children, although I’ve noticed he’s slightly teethy when playing and doesn’t always realise how long his legs actually are. He’s a beautifully sweet boy who would suit a home that’s fairly quiet, with another confident dog. Lots of blankets and love. He’s happy enough when you need to go out as long as he’s got a warm beds to sleep in. You may find he has collected your shoes for comfort though. Albert deserves the absolute best home to feel loved and secure in. With consistency and love he will be your best friend and shadow. ✨ Neutered & vaccinated ✨ Great with dogs and small companions ✨ Loving, gentle, and enjoys cuddles

About Albert

What life with Albert looks like

Albert is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue in Bulgaria.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇬Adopting from Bulgaria

Bulgarian shelters typically include full vet workup, sterilization, and passport. Many coordinate with EU rescue partners for direct transport to adopter cities in Germany, Netherlands, and Austria.

Frequently asked

Adopting Albert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Albert?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Albert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Albert if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Albert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Albert isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Santerpaws Bulgarian Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Albert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
