Alcor

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Alcor arrived at the shelter on September 2, 2026, and we have been getting to know this little treasure ever since. She is an extremely affectionate little dog, one of those who enjoys contact and being close to people a lot. But don't be fooled by her cuddly side: Alcor also has a lot of energy! She loves going out and, when she has the opportunity to explore, she goes wild sniffing. Everything interests her, everything deserves a stop and it seems that there is always something new to discover. She is an active and curious little dog during her walks, one of those who enjoys taking advantage of every minute outside. With other dogs there is no problem, so she shares space and walks with them normally. Alcor needs to find a family that enjoys her affectionate nature and also understands that energy and those exploratory urges she shows when she goes out. Because Alcor is that: a lot of affection, a lot of curiosity and a lot of energy.

ES·Show original

About Alcor

What life with Alcor looks like

Alcor is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Villena in Spain.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alcor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alcor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Villena handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alcor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alcor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Villena will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alcor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alcor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Villena early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alcor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
