Alfie and Lily

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Senior · 12 years

Hi there! We are the super sweet pair Alfie and Lily who had to come in as our owner had to move to a home that wasn't suitable for us. We are now looking for our purrfect furrever home. We are a super sweet duo but can be rather scared and unsure to begin with so you will need to have lots of patience with us and give us time to show our true colours. It is unknown if we have met any cat or dogs so it would be a trial, we would also prefer children over 12 as we can be scared. Just no other female cats please. We would also love to have outdoor access once we have settled. If you think you have it in your hearts to look after a sweet pair like us please click the 'Apply Here' button and fill out our application. We look forward to meeting you. xx

About Alfie and Lily

What life with Alfie and Lily looks like

Alfie and Lily is a senior mixed breed cat cat waiting at Yorkshire Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alfie and Lily, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alfie and Lily?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Yorkshire Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alfie and Lily on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alfie and Lily if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Yorkshire Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alfie and Lily already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alfie and Lily isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Yorkshire Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alfie and Lily and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
