adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Alina has found her home! Her story: Alina was born somewhere around August 2023. She has a shoulder height of approximately 56 cm and weighs 20 kg. We rescued her from the public animal shelter in Zalau. Alina loves being stroked, catching treats, and being around people. The leash and harness are already familiar to her. Alina is a dog who places a lot of importance on movement. New situations could initially unsettle her, but we are convinced that with a lot of patience and more love, she will become a very special companion. Currently, she is still in our private shelter in Zalau. Alina has not yet experienced an appropriate life and still has a lot to learn. She is definitely ready to start studying the dog 1×1 class with her new family and will do her best to present her best side. Besides a balanced life, it is also important for her to be mentally stimulated. Perhaps she will even find a dog hobby in a positively working dog training class. For Alina, we would wish for a more rural area with an enclosed garden. She gets along very well with other dogs. Unfortunately, we cannot assess how she reacts to cats. Depending on her age, it could also be that Alina still has the occasional teenage mood swings. A loving but consistent upbringing is important here. Alina travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive assessment. Would you like to give this wonderful female dog a new life? Many thanks, Susi G.! You have given Alina her beautiful name! Date: 09.09.

Vielen Dank Susi G.! Du hast Alina ihren schönen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 09.09.2024

About Alina

What life with Alina looks like

Alina is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
